Actually, I think the whole "When there's no more room in Hell, the dead will walk the Earth" thing isn't used as a reason in the Dawn remake, just a creepy saying the writer wanted to throw in there, and tie in to the original movie. It (the remake) was a pretty bad movie, anyway.

It was in the remake, but I was referring specifically to the original. It was more just religious hog wash, like blaming 9/11 on the gays, than it was an actual explanation, but it was effective the first time around as far as the creep factor goes, and it sounds like a good reason.

I thought the remake was pretty good, especially considering James Gunn's previous track record of... Scooby Doo movies. I am very cautiously optimistic about the upcoming Day of the Dead remake.

And don't forget the chainsaw in bus part :D I'm curious to see if they remake Day with the same plot or if they try to make Romero's original script for it (which involved zombie armies  ). I've still not seen Day of the Dead 2: Contagium (the unofficial sequel; I need to rent it to see it at least once. While I am excited for the Day remake, I'm not sure how I feel about Dawn of the Dead 2 yet.
According to World War Z zombies can be frozen, but become a problem once again when it gets warmer.

Btw, has anyone else besides me read the book yet?
Boy I hate to Necro posts as a return, but I love that book and it is specifically mentioned several times.

I'm so psyched it's going to be a movie.

yes. at some point the blood and tissues change due to temperature and are effectively destroyed. This might be REALLY cold, and kind of unrealistic, but it could happen.

Plus there's the frozen and brittle zombie that gets hit with a baseball bat and shatters, that amuses me.

I find it interesting that through the whole of this poll, EVERYBODY totally missed the point where I said, "OUTSIDE of creating a zombiecicle."

on second thought, are you talking about a zombie who is closer to a vampire in terms of how it's moving? ie: The soul of the person has been put back in the body, which is kept in good physical condition due simply to the strong will of the soul. In that sort the zombie has blood that circulates, and a nervous system that is powered and working, if only from the sheer force of it's will. This kind of zombie WOULD be subject to cellular damage caused by expanding ice crystals.

or are you talking about a rotting corpse that has been simply re-animated with little or no will of its own save the mindless instinct to seek nourishment? 'cause in that case i'm not sure yet.

I would quote my own self again, but now it would seem redundant and mean mean, like asking a retarded kid on the playground to do math in front of everyone.
