Death penalty for Saddam Hussein
In a surprise verdict of the century, the former Iraqi strongman and some of his fellow leaders were sentenced to death by hanging for killing 150 Shia's in 1982.

Saddam is still on trial for his genoside actions and other wrong doings.

How is this "a surprise verdict"? I pretty much figured he'd be executed the minute I heard he was going to be put on trial.
Nope, never have, never did. Which is really sick when you think about it. Democrats knew about it before hand, and instead of trying to get someone they expected as a sexual predator away from his victims, they waited until when they thought they could gain the maximum political advantage.
So ... Do you have proof of that? Or even any sort of actual evidence, rather than just anti-democratic-party conjecture?

Yes, because nothing ever happens by chance that's convenient (or inconvenient) for anyone, ever, does it?
( and on topic: Everyone knows how I feel about the death penalty, though it being Hussein certainly makes it a hard stance to take... )
