That was probably the only water that kid has seen in awhile, and definitely the only clean water that kid has seen in a damn long time.
If that was the only water the kids had seen in a while, they would be dead. Dehydration sets in in less that 24 hours and death is after about 72.

By WHAT information do you arrive at that conclusion??!
And, I have been to a third-world country and in the bad parts. I have done missionary trips to villages in Mexico and Romania. I know what people there are like, and that kid needed some fucking water.
Far be it from me to call you a liar...but some more detail to your stories would help sell them more.

And these weren't street urchins. They were fully dressed in normal clothes, etc. Man, I don't know where you get your ideas, but you need to ask for some refunds.

clean water. And, Deacon, by knowing what goes on in Third-world countries and that people will often see their friends and family die from dehydration or illness.

Also, I went to the villages right outside Tijuana and in Romania, I had gone to Jimbolia. In the villages outside Tijuana wasn't as bad, although we did facilitate the transport of purified water from the city to the villages because indoor plumbing didn't extend out to the villages. Concerning Jimbolia, they intensely depended on our distribution of water, as there was no indoor plumbing and no paved roads that would facilitate the casual transportation of clean water. Even with us there, that bottle of water was about all an average person there would see per day.

EDIT: Street clothes aren't hard to come by. It's not like they were dressed in FUBU. What do you think kids run around naked in poor countries?

Except, I don't. As explicitly stated. What the hell is wrong with your reading comprehension, man?
clean water.
No, you explicitly say "water", and then follow it with "clean water" afterwards. Also, given the rather wet appearance of the streets, it would seem likely that it had rained in the prior day or two. This would make it very likely that some form of clean water is available.

jimkatai, I lived in Guatemala for three years and Mexico City for two. I have family that live in small towns and villages about an hour outside Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and in Moldova, as well. My mom, being a nurse, volunteered some of her time to assist with a free clinic that was run in Guatemala City at the dump, where thousands of people live their entire lives, and when that time coincided with days off from school or during the summer, I would join her, counting out pills and whatever else I could do to be helpful. I know poor, the devastation of destitution, and those kids were not dying of thirst.

that is because the kid probably hasn't resorted to drinking dirty water since about a day ago and probably hasn't seen clean water in four days (I made a mistake in using the word "seen". Water is everywhere, just not much of it is clean). Giving an approximation, of course. And rain? What two inches if they're lucky? This rain would have to be collected as it was falling and then evenly distributed amongst thousands for that to be a valid point. And even then, that isn't that much water. It would last maybe a day. And then they are back where they started, needing a bottle of water, which may be what this kid was thinking.

EDIT: And congratulations Deacon, but coming from that background, you should know that when a kid in a country sees water like that, they need to tackle the opportunity to get it because God knows when they may see water again.

Oh dear lord, jimkatai, what are you THINKING? This is in the middle of a city in Iraq, not the dunes of the Sahara. What's the matter with you?

Ah, it was some short post made later on. Got it. Not that it really changes the overblown depths of the rage he felt and communicated after having watched the rather tame video.
