i have the best puppies EVUR!!!!!

Post by spikegirl7 » Tue Dec 26, 2006 2:42 am

So i'm a dog breeder, breeding wolf hybrid pups. And as such, my Steve and i have two beautiful girl pups. Well, they have proven themselves to be the best pups on earth.

Not too long ago, there were a couple of rats (big ones too) that were trying to get into the house. My pups took one each and killed them and ate them. Keeping our house rat-free has become a hobby of theirs.

And today i walked with them and i noticed that one of the girls was prancing (a sign that she was proud of herself) and was carrying something familiar looking in her mouth. i go up to her and to where she has dropped it at her feet and pick it up. My puppy found me MONEY.

i swear, i have the best puppies ever. They kill rats, they kill mice, they give me money, they are the best ever.

Why do you want things to kill us? We just want love. And to eat your stuff.

My grandma's late farm dog (she fell asleep one day when she was 16 or 17 and never woke up  ) was part border collie and part wolf. Most intelligent dog I've ever met in my entire life.

To be honest, of all the dogs I've ever met in my life, it's only the dogs with large percentages of wolf breeding in them that are intelligent. The rest are just trained. It's why I never want a dog, I'd have to go looking specifically for a wolf breed. That, and I'd have to live on a farm or something. There's no way I'd torture a dog by living in the city with one.

gravity, you're really going to have to clarify. There are many breeds of dog that tend to be very intelligent, some that are more easily trained, some both, some neither, and of course in the end it comes down to the individual animal. Basically, your assertion reeks of shocking ignorance.

Of course it reeks of shocking ignorance, Deac, I don't have anything to do with dogs as much as possible. Mangy, stupid, smelly beasts. Any dogs with wolf breeding in them were illegal in Seattle, so I rarely had contact with them until I was older.

But good training means the dog will just sit there and do what you tell it because it's trained to do that. An intelligent dog doesn't bother to get in the way, and knows not to do stupid shit. At least, that's always been my definition of the differences. As I said, I've known a lot of stupid, well trained dogs. But all of the wolf dogs I've known have been intelligent. With little need of training.

Of course, that could be because I've never been attacked by a wolf dog once in my life, and I've been attacked several times by supposedly intelligent dogs that weren't intelligent, their training just made them seem that way. :x Most were just mutts, but Collies really are really, really dumb dogs. Yech, honestly, I don't know how they'd survive on their own without close supervision. (my grandparents bred Collies. Dumbest dogs to ever exist, as I have been informed. The only one of their dogs I met got killed by running in front of a bus to cross the street when I called for him when I was a toddler, apparently. )

gravity, the border collie is the most intelligent breed of dog there is, and a lot of other sheep dogs are close behind. My dog taught herself to open and close the screen door when she wanted out from watching us do it a million times for her.

Dog intelligence.

Yes, I have the highest regards for border collies. But my grandparents bred regular collies. The ones that look like Lassie. And are all as dumb as sidewalk gravel, as I have been informed. :glare:

Sorry, brain fart just informed me that I might be confusing. My grandparents on my mother's side of the family bred Collies. Grandparents on my father's side of the family had the farm and border collies.
