How long do your showers take?

Wait a minute. Deacon loves doing laundry, sleeping in sateen sheets, and taking gentle, rainlike showers beneath a wide cascade of water?
You know, Deacon, just because you have a house now doesn't mean you HAVE to become a housewife.
P.S. It's really hard making fun of somebody when you're secretly jealous.

[quote="Deacon";p="724963"]I have one of these in chrome:

But isn't that one of those "rainfall" showerheads? I want one with PRESSURE - the one I was eyeballing was at Homedepot - you probably saw it - had little rubber tips on what looked like hex nuts(they screw into the shower head), I think it's like $70. If I get one, I intend to shit can the water restrictor.
The other thing I'm thinking of doing is getting one of those gas fired Instantaneous hot water heaters. They're cheaper to operate(but have a higher up front cost), take up less room, and provide unlimited hot water.
I started looking into it, because the tank heater is due to be replaced.

My father is a plumber, so I have access to slightly more industial strength items (high flow shower heads and toilets). Aside from that, there is also the fact that the occasional home owner will retrofit an old house, so I can get one of the shower heads from the 80s.
Also something I've found to be useful for travel situations (take one about everytime I go to the beach) is one of the really cheap shower heads from hardware stores and what not.

It doesn't build pressure by over restricting the water into those pin and needle streams. There is just enough restriction so you can feel the water without it burning, but enough water gets out so that you can actually get the soap off (best of both worlds)

Wait
In your case, that restrictor does not restrict pressure. It restricts flow. Through the large shower heads like you're talking about, all it will do is cause more water to come out overall, not spray out noticeably harder. Your tub will simply start filling up if you don't have excellent drainage.
