I believe you're wrong. Regardless, it looks like you made a wrong turn somewhere, such as getting on the internet. Taking yourself so seriously is a recipe for failure, especially when you're taking your quirky personal religion so seriously. I mean, really, just ask the Christians on this board. In fact, I seem to specficially recall you, personally, partaking in attacks more than once. Get over it, yourself, and your new-age magical "Asatru" throw-back religion.

Human beings, maybe? What makes you believe your religion is above questioning?Who are any of us to judge the validity of another's beliefs?
You seem to have confused freedom of religion for freedom from scrutiny. I don't understand how you could have confused the two, but one protects you from the American government setting up its own religion or making it illegal to practice your own. The other doesn't exist.the great thing about a DEMOCRACY is the fact that differing beliefs have a right to exist without being under constant scrutiny by those who don't understand and/or don't care to understand. The First Amendment to the US Constitution even states as follows:
Yes, you're definitely confused. The religious implication (although admittedly an unintended consequence of the wording, I doubt America's forefathers would object to this interpretation) is that ALL religious beliefs are legitimate to someone and therefore worthy of respect in their own right.
Well, it would also be inaccurate, but yes, it would be disrespectful. Unfortunately (well, I would say fortunately), you don't have some sort of vague Right to Respect, where everyone must walk softly regarding your pet polytheistic imaginings. I'm frankly shocked that you would "believe" this to be the case.I'd find it disrespectful and disgusting if someone were to say that Catholicism were merely like Freemasonry only with cosplay and paedophilia.

Sorry to say Deacon, but I've never said anyone on this forum was stupid or otherwise for being Christian. I may disagree with Christianity, but I've never come out and slammed it. You took a bit of offence to my disagreement with it, which is your own problem at the end of the day.
Get over your own self, especially your cluelessness about Asatru and other beliefs that don't fit into the mainstream. My beliefs are just as legitimate as yours, even if you don't like them.

Today's liberals wish to disarm us so they can run their evil and oppressive agenda on us. The fight against crime is just a convenient excuse to further their agenda. All it means is that you seem to be under the impression you've won something here. Meanwhile, back in reality, we're all giggling at you with her.

Freedom of religion is a right guaranteed by the Federal government which until sometime after it was written only meant that the Federal government could not stop some one from practicing the religion of their choice. This was eventually spread to include state governments as well.
You said potshots about other people's religion aren't needed. In honesty, you are correct. Don't let that go to your head because in reality, no potshots are needed.
I respect my mother very much, for many reasons. It doesn't stop me from poking fun at her, and her at me.

Actually, it IS a matter of respecting people's beliefs. There's NO NEED to take potshots at others' beliefs. I shouldn't imagine that you'd feel comfortable at me taking potshots at your beliefs, whatever they may be. In fact, the fact that you're equating my call for respect for beliefs as having no sense of humour makes you come across as flippant and shallow.[/quote]
There's NO NEED, but there's a definite WANT, especially when they're uptight pricks about it.
People take potshots at my beliefs all the time. Do you know what I do? I either say "wow, that was really unoriginal and dumb" or I laugh, depending on how well they worded the potshot.
I'm not "flippant and shallow". I've just learned to take a goddamned joke.

It is not bashing if you do mean it as a joke. If there is malice behind the words (and even halfway intelligent people can tell when there is malice) then it becomes bashing.
