Call me lacking in humour if you wish, I just don't see how any belief-bashing can be worded in a funny way.
It is not bashing if you do mean it as a joke. If there is malice behind the words (and even halfway intelligent people can tell when there is malice) then it becomes bashing.
Call me strange for this, but I see religious beliefs as a realm outside of acceptable joking parameters. Even if not meant in malice, it may still come across as malicious to someone with deep religious convictions who otherwise is considered to have a great sense of humour.

What if my religion involves making fun of other religious beliefs?

Sorry to say Thorsman, but it looks like you had no actual rebuttal for any point I made.
Sorry to say Deacon, but I've never said anyone on this forum was stupid or otherwise for being Christian. I may disagree with Christianity, but I've never come out and slammed it.
You're probably right, and I've confused you with any number of other goofuses out there. That said, I find the following post of yours somewhat ironic:
Besides, Deacon, if your stance on your religion can't stand up to decently objective criticism, what's the point in having it? JudgeMental doesn't seem to have the same problem as you do. As I see it, Deacon, you seem unable to see open and intelligent disagreement with your beliefs as anything but an attack on them. I find that rather unfortunate.
What I find rather unfortunate is the haughtiness with which you dish it out and the overblown air of wounded defensiveness you adopt when you take it, especially when "it" is a passing, mostly joking comment. I'm sure you'll argue that the difference is that I didn't take a large part of my day to lay out in detail the various points of disagreement I would have with your belief in magic, but I'm not convinced that's a requirement you have the right to impose on everyone else. And the most fantastic bit of irony (or rather hypocrisy)...
You took a bit of offence to my disagreement with it, which is your own problem at the end of the day.

Get over your own self, especially your cluelessness about Asatru and other beliefs that don't fit into the mainstream. My beliefs are just as legitimate as yours, even if you don't like them.
Oooooooh
Image

You don't even know what my beliefs are, but guess what? It doesn't matter. You can raise your eyebrows and close your eyes and be dismissive of anyone who doesn't treat your "beliefs" with kid gloves, but mainstream or other irrelevancies aside, the "legitimacy" of your ideas is not for you to decide or declare. You can either be an angry little child about it, or you can develop a sense of humor. Your choice. Either way, drop the pretentious invention of rights and ideas as to what you "deserve."

You know what Thorsman? Your beliefs offend ME. Get out now, because if I am offended then obviously everyone else on the forum is offended as well, because we are in the religion of Greg and obviously because you are of a different religion you are the lowest most vile thing in existence...

Seriously, get a god damn life and learn that not everyone sees things the same as you.

Of all the worldviews I've come across, I've never seen one that involves making fun of other beliefs.

Making fun of, no.

Killing the believers of said religion, more often than I'd like.

You've already been called a number of things for it. Wocket wins, by the way.

It's new. Just because you've never heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Oh, so because his religion isn't mainstream enough for you to have heard of it before, it's not legitimate and isn't worthy of respect?

If this were a prize fight, the ref would be ringing the bell and calling the fight.
