Bagheadinc, I love you. I lol'd, have my babies, and whatnot.

Deacon, I think "Ne" sounds better than "Eh," "Right," "Yeah," "Huh," "Right-o, old chap," etc.-desu.

I don't think it's being wapanese-desu. I don't think it's weaboo-desu. I don't think it's so cute la-desu. It's also definitely not otaku to me-desu. It is entirely a matter of preference, just like how you say "fucking," when you could say anything else that's equally or more intense without being profane-desu. To you, the word "fuck" is just more appealing-desu.

DESU DESU DESU DESU... Oh, hey, there's a reason not to digitize your body. You could literally live 4chan. That's just way too scary to comprehend.
"Or even worse are those times when I catch myself trying to twist his message to make it say what I want him to say, and then only hearing that. This can be a very subtle thing, and it is surprising how skillful I can be in doing it. Just by twisting his words a small amount, by distorting his meaning just a little, I can make it appear that he is not only saying the thing I want to hear, but that he is the person I want him to be." -Carl Rogers

desu, ne, etc. are just as nauseating as valley speak years ago. Like, totally.

Ick. Seriously.

Mind, I'm not comparing the two. Valleyspeak is regional, sure, but the J-pop subculture is more pervasive; thus, far more annoying.

Yeah because it's some great sin to use a well-fitting word from another language, it's stupid, fanboyish, lame, et ceteraOH WAIT.

Your perception is astounding. How many dots do you have in it, two?

It's not all that ridiculously unlike using French and Latin words to sound pretentious when you're not.

I don't know if you noticed, sir, but you're not Japanese. English words fit the situation. Using Japanese ones just makes you feel different and cool. And being different JUST to be different (and for no other purpose) IS lame and and stupid.

...And if there's something I can't stand, it's poseurs acting like they're pretentious when they SO aren't.

(Sorry, had to do it.)

This reminds of me Shadowrun and simsense.
No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave. -- Calvin Coolidge

Today's liberals wish to disarm us so they can run their evil and oppressive agenda on us. The fight against crime is just a convenient excuse to further their agenda. I don't know about you, but if you hear that Williams' guns have been taken, you'll know Williams is dead. -- Walter Williams, Professor of Economics, George Mason University
