Oh...so, I don't necessarily have happy cancer, but I just carry the cause (happiness). Therefore, me being happy causes other people to contract happy cancer. OH, JOY!

*dances around*

No no, not THOSE puppies...the puppies that turn into these (and before you say it, no, not the human looking one, the other one):

Yeah, for reference, the spawns of Hades I was referring to were those kinds of puppies. Honest mistake

Ouch, the simplified hurt my head.

First step: transcribe into traditional/standard so I can read without trouble:
現在我在美國。 我在武漢大學學習漢語從一月2006年到十二月2006年。我在中國(武漢)還教英語。 下月我要去新加坡,還要去馬來西亞。

Second step: oh, 好好...我也美國人。我在武淡江大學學習漢語從一月2007年到七月2006年。 你should try台灣。。。台灣很漂亮。

For everyone else...I was just saying that I am also American, am studying at Danshui University from January to July 2007, and that Taiwan is beautiful. :)

Haha and traditional hurts MY head. Though I learned to pick up traditional characters here and there through singing at KTV and some Taiwan/HK shops in Wuhan.

I'm hitting Singapore next month to see my girl, and Malaysia to see her parents...good times. We talked about hitting Taiwan at some point, but she *really* wants to take a trip to Vietnam. Ho Chi Mihn city anyone? Hmm...

If you ever get a chance to hit the mainland and love mountains, go visit Huangshan in the Anhui Province. Some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen.

BTW, does the taiwanese read the same (or close to) as Mandarin/Putonghua?

好好...我也美國人。我在武淡江大學學習漢語從一月2007年到七月2006年。 你should try台灣。。。台灣很漂亮。

Would this be(excluding tonal markers, pure pinyin here):

hao hao...wo ye mei guo ren, wo zai wu(?) dan jiang da xue xue xi han yu cong yi yue 2007 nian dao qi yue 2007 nian. Ni should try tai wan....tai wan hen piao liang.

You said your uni is Danshui? That could be a difference, because I read it as Danjiang University.

Danjiang University (TamKang if you are Hakka) is IN 淡水/Danshui, Taiwan...I know, I was confused for a bit while I was in the United States, but I got the hang of it, haha. In fact, I think I was still slightly confused when I got here...I was using 水 instead of 江.

And I use Hanyu Pinyin, so it reads the same for me...they use Bopomofo here and I haven't yet mastered, and probably never will master, it. If you want to know about it you can look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhuyin.

Basically, they use phonetic symbols instead of Roman lettering...easier for them I guess. I hear Taiwan will start using either Tongyong or Hanyu Pinyin in the next few years, so I guess bopomofo is going to be going out the window at some point.
