Yes, thank god. He's enough trouble without balls and the associated spraying, singing, leaving kittens everywhere, and suchlike.

Both, yes. Because I didn't have plans to breed them. Which sucks, because I would have liked to be able to breed my retriever, he was a stray that turned out to be a damn smart dog.

All three of our male animals (two cats, one dog) are neutered.

The other dog, I don't remember if she's still all there or not. However, she has had a long history of attitude problems. :) Do dogs get menopause?

Yes. And other problems.

I believe though that animals don't live long past menopause.

Our female barn cats are neutered though. This is because we had a tomcat who had kittens with one female cat, and then had a litter with his own daughter. So then we fixed the gals. We couldn't get a hold of him to neuter him.

Judging by what Twitch is able to do to my arms and face and chest and back when she's really angry, it's probably not wise to try to take her to the vet. She's frightened enough of strangers, (seriously, anyone she doesn't know and she hides under my doona until they're gone) a needle would send her through the roof.

Correction: A needle would put her to sleep till the magic operation that calms her down can be performed scratch free.

Hell yes. My brother's cat is the living example of why incest is bad (the lady we got him from is an idiot, and refused to fix any of her cats, so they interbred for multiple generations), big and dumb as a box of rocks, though he is sweet. My cat would probably just spawn little half demon things (she's out to kill the entire world, I swear), so I'm glad she's fixed.

And, sadly, my computer does not spawn little electronic devices of her own, though I do encourage it. :)

No, holding her down in the presence of a stranger so he can put the needle in her. I couldn't even keep her held when the antennae man was here today, from across the other side of the room. The only person who she'll let near her (and usually not even then, only if I'm patting her) is my father.

When I take my cats to the vet they are so traumatized by being crated the vet can do anything to them.
