For those of you who remember or care, I plugged some of our stuff a while back. We've been working hard on a studio-recorded CD.
We finally got our CD made and back to us on May 3rd (imagine 1000 CDs sitting in my living room), and had the release concert (and sold 84 CDs) on the 5th. We just got the online distribution taken care of, and iTunes is soon to come (in around 2-3 weeks).
Check it out. CD Baby does a pretty long preview so you can get a good feel for the all of the songs. Pricing may get a little cheaper, hopefully we'll have a meeting in the next week to solidify everything. Also, iTunes will be cheaper if you're willing to wait that long, don't want a physical CD, and are willing to forgo the bonus track on the CD.

Interesting. From the previews, I think I liked Don't Stop Believin', Livin' on a Prayer, and House of the Rising Sun the best. Some of them have some long and unrecognizable intros. For instance, Where the Streets Have No Name didn't really get "good" for me until about 30 seconds in. Cool idea and good execution all around, though. Is that really a harp I hear on the intro to Stairway to Heaven, or is there some cello trick I don't know (note: not a cellist myself)?
PS Tan Dun, anyone?

The intros are meant to meld classical music with the rock music. If you're at a live show it creates a bit of tension because you're wondering what it's going to turn into. Also there are some sort classical music allusions, like the interplay between Hotel California and the Beethoven theme. The intro from Livin' on a Prayer is actually based off of what Bon Jovi does; in his version it also starts sort of quiet and mysterious.
That is indeed a harp in Stairway to Heaven. And a flute. The harp was actually mic'ed in stereo (I'm quite proud of the effect I managed to get with the microphone setup) so as she plays scales you can hear the music moving from left to right [you may need headphones to really hear the effect; also, I'm not sure if the preview CD Baby creates is mono or stereo. But if you get the CD you can definitely hear it]
