There are two upsides to the dollar being weaker - 1)is already mentioned, American Industry is more likely to stay at home, and something overlooked 2)It makes foreign investment in America more appealing, because they're worth more.
One of the big reasons why the dollar has been weakening recently is that China has stated they're no longer going to peg their currency against the dollar, instead they're planning to switch over to the Euro..

The reason our stock market has been doing so well is because of the strengthening of the foreign markets.
The New Zealand dollar is WAY up against the greenback which is really hurting their export industry (which is the main push for their economy). It pleases me, though. I want that sucker to go WAY up when that house sells...

Bigity, got one that covers multiple days? Those ones are large single day drops, but I'd argue a 5% drop over a few days is more significant than a 3% drop followed by a 1% drop. Either way, it looks like the markets have stopped dropping.
