I'm glad you're so flexible about those of us not close to a coast or LA in general (not that I would be coming from far away).
I think I'm personally more interested in a Vegas type shindig than a zoo type shindig, but obviously I don't represent everyone by any means. Vegas also has the downside of being a VERY active town.

I suggest picking something in orange county. You have beaches, museums, amusement parks, sporting stuff, and good restaurants, all within a nice little area. Plus we could go visit Malibu Creek State Park, the filming location of M*A*S*H

You could check Sacramento airport too for Tahoe. The drive isn't nearly as interesting, but if its cheaper, then thats what we could do.
I personally like Vegas as I grew up in Tahoe and spent alot of time in Reno, but I have no problem with going there. =)

The problem with Vegas, at least for me, is that the stretch between there and Southern California is bat country.

That's no problem. Just don't stop there.

One of the main points of this is to have it for the west coasters, as we've already have several on the east coast region. As I already stated, this is just going to be for the weekend so we're trying to keep costs down. The main reason Vegas was thrown out there is because there's generally pretty good deals going on, compared to other parts of the country. This isn't so much meant to accomodate a large group of people, as it is to give the West Coasters a chance to hang out with Greg and Liz.
As far as dates go, there are a few we were looking at. I don't believe I was copied on the email in which Greg and Liz gave their available dates, so they can chime in with that or I'll ask Martin when he gets home. It will likely be a Fri-Mon type of thing, though.

I'm declaring myself an honorary west coaster for this gathering.

<kaiju01> Yeah, I'm kind of a dick.

Soph isn't married that I know of.
Vegas so far is the only real draw to me. As I've never been and it openly supports alcoholism.

Tahoe and Reno are like smaller versions of Vegas. Just FYI. =) Trust me, you don't end up blowing up portapotties by living in a place that isn't acceptant of drinking.

Well shit. There goes Plan B. I've got no gripes with either, as Deacon mentioned I know several carriers give deals to Vegas frequently.
