Secretary of State. I don't think he was Secretary of Defense at any time, was he?

The data refutes you.

It doesn't. You only seem to be counting the current staff, which wouldn't take into account former staff members such as the previous Secretary of State Colin Powell, for instance.

Actually, I counted both. Right below counting current staff is a total for everyone who served in the cabinet ... Bush comes out ahead of Clinton 17 to 16.

So it's "barely" more colorful, not "far". It's a lot closer than you seem to want to say. And fewer people served on Clinton's cabinet, so although the Clinton cabinet was less 'colorful', it's more densely colorful.

What about the importance of the positions the folks served in? I'd like to see that before you go claiming rough parity.

How do you want to weight the cabinet seats?

Go in the order of when they were established, earlier first. That is the way of Presidential succession if the President, VP, and the Speaker of the House all die, so......

Now Gonzalez, Rove left before him, Bolton quit UN. Rumsfeld had to go too. Wolfowitz and Libby were forced to leave because of scandals. Why is everyone leaving president George W Bush? And I still do not understand why Powell left. Or why Tenet, CIA direktor, had to quit too. Is it a purge from Bush?

Powell left because he found his balls and stopped being the president's little bitch.

That's not a very helpful answer.

Blah. You're right. Can't really explain my comment in any sort of depth; so Makh, just ignore my answer - it's crap. It's commentary on the resignation, rather than discussion.
