God I hate you for linking that. That spring character was incredibly annoying, and the whole rest of it was terrible and tedious as well.

I did read everything. I understood everything. What I was saying is I would like to go, but I have no clue at this time if I will be able to attend because of issues in my life. When I can figure out if I am able to go (it may not be until January) if the house is completely booked at that point with no room left, I have no problems with looking around for another place to stay including another house, or a hotel room. I don't want to put a deposit down until I am absolutely sure I would be able to make it.

I didn't see anything in the reservations about staying someplace else and then planning on making the local trips or hanging on the beach with people so I didn't think it would be a problem.

I re-read it and didn't see it either, but I remember this from prior Gathering threads. They don't allow that because it's not fair for you to have access to the house and it's goodies without paying the price for staying there...or something along those lines. Hosting the group at your house for a day is something else entirely, because you are sucking up the whole cost. :)

We're usually out for no more than a few hours at a time, and even that isn't every day, and for the most part we don't spend a lot of time on the beach. You'd really have to stumble across us, because we won't coordinate times with outsiders, either. Firebird is an exception because we're going to her place (well, a place she borrows), and she can handle a dozen or more people showing up there.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

Anyways, with golf season winding down I'll be heading back to the hotel in November, so today I'm e-mailing Chef to see about discussing where exactly I'm going to be working at the hotel. Since I'll likely be talking to him later this week I'll discuss time off in April with him then, so I should know for sure if I can make it by the end of the week.

Affording to make a deposit, however, is a little trickier. Since I'm taking a week off at the end of this month, and it's been a slow couple of weeks my paycheques are not as awesome as I'd like, so on top of bills and rent I'm not going to have too much, so making a deposit might have to wait until mid-November at the earliest... I hope there's still spots left, as they seem to be vanishing quickly...

Ok, not a problem. Like I said, I just didn't see anything about staying someplace else. I guess I will have to wait until my Guam trip is set in stone (won't know when I'm going until January) and see if there is any room left at that point.

If I can't make it, I wouldn't mind trying to set up a gathering/mini-gathering in the Maryland/DC area in the middle of summer but that can wait of course a few months.

I have to be pedantic here and let you know that it has to be labeled as a get-together, or some other thing. Gatherings are official forum functions.

However, this is getting off-topic. You're welcome to host your own, pursuant to the rules in GTKY, and anything further should be handled there.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

Yes we are like moths when it comes to neon signs. Nothing says "sleep with me" more than a glowing beer logo on the wall.
