11/30/07 - Arrived safely

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

I, on the other hand, have been there four times and show no signs of stopping.

Oh yes, it has a glass floor.

No! Bad! Don't mention that piece of crap! It's only for Japanese tourists who are going through Las Vegas who think that THAT is the grand canyon when it's not. It's just one of the side canyons and is only 1000 feet deep and about 300 yards wide. Tiger Woods could rail a ball from one end to the other and sink a birdie over that thing.

Say it with me now. The Skywalk is the Devil!

If you go on google maps and accidentally find the South Rim Village (do a search for 86023, thats our zip code) and look around just east of the Back Country office there is a little street named Loop W (named because it loops around... we're creative). I live on the SE part of that. You can see my building even if you do the satellite view. There are two cars in front facing south. I could get more descriptive, but then there would be people knocking on my door, and you need to ask before you do that.

I didn't know you could live right next to the Grand Canyon. That must make for one heck of a sunset view.

Oh, I work the C Shift and conveniently go to sleep about 4 minutes before sun rise and wake up just after sunset.

Though I hear they are beautiful.

The Grand Canyon is one of the things I would LOVE to see, from both sides. The top and from the bottom. I see that river and it looks like SO MUCH FUN!!!!! I just wanna grab a raft and jump in.

Of course I realize doing so without a person experienced on that stretch would be extremely dangerous as that river is the only one with it's own system of rating the rapids in it so I have NO idea what kind of water it would be.

Put it on my to-do list....

I've been down to the VLA a couple of times. Mind you, it's kind of a long drive out and the area isn't exactly pretty most of the time (although the last time I went, it was after we'd had a really rainy summer and there was a bunch of green weeds and such growing all over and it actually made it kind of pretty in a way), but it's still really kind of a neat experience. Plus, there's something awesome about getting to stand close to one of those huge antennas.

Let us know when you're making that trip, we'll tag along. :D

Remember, it takes less than 20 seconds to get from the top to the bottom the easy way.

Congrats on the move, Greg and Liz! As someone who also made the big move from California to a faraway town that nobody's heard of, I understand all the reasons for doing it. And believe me, I have no desire to move back to CA. You guys made a good choice.

Hey, this seemed like the place. Greg & Liz, y'all gonna be having some sort of housewarming party that we'd be party to?
