I usually don't agree with Rors well maybe not so much don't agree as don't like the way things get stated . In his previous post however I would have to agree totally. To collegestudent22 I don't see you making any remarks about the guys who are trying to get in the pants of anything that moves. That double standard is still ridiculous although not as bad as it used to be that a woman who has sex when she wants is a slut while a man is a stud. To me any person male or female who is throwing it around town to anyone who will give them the time of day is a slut but probably has major self esteem issues (women esp). A male or female who is not indiscriminately doing anything that moves but rather having healthy fun sex is a different thing altogether and if you are looking for some pure girl out there who isn't going to think about or have sex before she is married you are going to be looking a long long time.

That's not a double standard really. Women and men are vastly different emotionally/psychologically. I think men that are having sex with anyone that'll let them are pretty much being men. There are plenty of women that do it for the same reasons (just to get laid) but I'd be willing to bet there are far more women having sex in a "if I have sex with them they'll pay attention to me" mindset than men.

I disagree with it not being a double standard, how an individual feels about sex doesn't have much to do with how other people see them. If a person is fat because of a physical problem or fat because they just overeat does that make them any less fat? or viewed as being fat? Sorry I know there is a better analogy/argument there but I'm running late for an appointment.

I guess what I was saying with the self esteem thing is men seem to be more driven to have casual "slutty" sex by hormones etc but can be just as prone to be that way because of the pressure to be "manly" where women seem to do that out of a need for acceptance "If he has sex with me that means he loves me".
