Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

12/24/2007 - Hot

Post by stile99 » Mon Dec 24, 2007 12:10 pm

*snort*

I love Liz's last line. Exactly six months from now, there will be a two-panel comic. First panel will be Greg commenting about the 110 degree high that day, second panel will be Liz saying "Told you so".

Although I do in a way have to agree with Greg. I determined the other day I will never be able to live in Michigan again, at least not in the winter. I was whining about how cold I was. High that day was in the 50's. Up until that very day, I laughed at Texans for calling this cold. That very morning, I laughed at a guy who came to work wearing a jacket...and not a light jacket either.

Now...ok, fine. I admit it. 56 degrees is farking cold.

Psh, welcome to the south Dean family.

At least in some parts of Texas you get snow... It hasn't snowed over here since, like, the 80's.

110? Meh...that's a nice and cool summer day. But yeah, I've found that anyone visiting Arizona for the first time in the winter will usually make some kind of comment on how it doesn't seem that warm. Desert areas are just like that I guess, they get cold in the winter and warm in the summer, none of that California 1 season nonsense.

Living only about 2 hours from where Greg and Liz moved too, I totally understand this, however, just wait. I've lived in this state for 7 years now and it gets hot around March/April.... although last year we had snow on Easter. It's funny that way. I'm waiting for the "I'm melting" strips I foresee in the summer.

Who said California had one season? I've been born and raised in California and grew up in snow country. I don't mean a few inches of snow, I mean feet upon feet of snow. The year I was born we received a drop of 8 ft in one night. California is NOT made up of a bunch of beaches that are 80 degrees year round.

I think because everything we hear about is in the LA area. Seriously, CA needs to be chopped in two. Norther CA and Southern CA. Then we'll only complain about So.Cal.

I blame Hollywood, because only two cities generally exist there: LA and SF.

SF doesn't have one season either. Plus Southern California has ski resorts too - You just have to remember that California has about every climate imaginable.

As someone who's lived in Texas for 15 years and San Antonio for 9 of those... yeah, summer's going to be fun. That's why we all go tubing down rivers with floating coolers of beer - so we can forget how unbelievably hot it is. And no, you never get used to it. Anyone who says that has had their brain fried.

Welcome to Texas, tho! ;)

It's 27 degrees here in Nebraska. We're having a rather warm Winter this year. It's freakin great. Haven't had to zip up my coat at all yet. Nor wear gloves and a hat. Yay for warm winters!
