That would be a weird football game, regardless of who played it.

Halftime!
7-3 Pats, at halftime. A very defensive first half.
Best Commercial: The FedEx Giant Carrier Pigeons. Now that would make a heck of a movie.
Runner-Up: The Bud Light ad where the foreign guys try to pick up chicks was pretty good, as well as the one where they briefly allowed men the ability to breath fire, but I love the Budweiser where the Dalmatian trains Hank the Clydesdale to be ready for next year. (The Garmin ad involving Napoleon was good too.)
Worst Commercial of the 1st half: The GoDaddy.com Ad that you have to see online. I really don't want to see Danica Patrick's assets. (Next worst: the Godfather homage by Audi. Why ruin a good engine like that? I also found the Toyota one with the guy pitted against a Mongoose and her litter to be rather...odd.)
Possibly off-topic or tangent, but that salesgenie.com add I saw during much of the pregame (there's another animated girl destined to bad hentai rip-offs)...any salesmen in the forum actually use sites or businesses like them to help find potential clients? Are they of any use?

Re: The 2008 NFL Playoffs
Right final score, wrong team wins. And that sound you hear, Cid, is Bill Simmons throwing something at his television, and screaming in utter agony. Don Shula is probably preparing to send Tom Coughlin a nice dozen cases of champagne, and free food for all the Giants players at his restaurant anytime they're in Miami.
I just wonder who was more excited after the Giant's last touchdown: Peyton or Eli?
I'm starting to think Junior Seau is never going to win the big one.
I'm thinking the Patriots are going to see a lot more defensive pressure next year.
It's nice to see Strahan get a ring finally. And Plexico.
I have one thing to ask the Patriots staff (and Brady): why didn't you try to throw more often to Randy Moss? Seriously? He was uncoverable for most of the game and you didn't even attempt to throw to him until well into the 2nd half.
The game was great. The ads were, well so-so. And I really would like to see a movie about giant pigeons attacking New York.

Yo Mav, I'm real happy for you and Imma let you finish but Hirschoff had the best sig trends of all time.
Re: The 2008 NFL Playoffs
Well, I said it way back when that 19-0 would never happen. I had almost completely lost hope in that when the Giants beat the Packers. Tonight was a helluva game, and to echo what was said earlier, why the F*** didn't the Pats throw to Moss more? Oh well, I am elated to see the Giants beat the Pats, and to see that wonderful pout that Billy boy had going in the tunnel when the cameras caught up with him..
And now, for the cool picture that Fuggle was kind enough to point out to me:

Your prediction was nearly as worthless as explaining why.mikehendo wrote:Well, I said it way back when that 19-0 would never happen.
Oh, and how new to the internet are you, exactly?

What "seems" to canter through your head is indeed a mystery.mikehendo wrote:Yet I seem to remember you jumping all over Cid and I after the Pats win in week 17.
Ignorance like feeling proud of yourself that you declared that something that's never been done before wouldn't be done this year and barely even squeaking out with that? No, that seems to be your job.Dont you have some ignorance to spread somewhere? Off you go deac..

Re: The 2008 NFL Playoffs
Stop it, both of you. That has nothing to do with football.
:: sigh ::
That was the best game of football (in its entirety -- there was nigh on two quarters' worth that looked almost like high school football) I've seen in a long time, and the first Super Bowl in a very, very long time (maybe ever) where the game was better than the commercials. When New York was setting up for fourth and one with 1:34 remaining, we were all talking about how this was perhaps going to decide the game, because if the Giants couldn't pull off first down, even with their remaining time outs, they probably weren't going to get another chance. The first down was exciting enough, but when Manning somehow scrambled out of that blitz three plays later and picked up 32 yards, we were all on the edge of our seats. That play was, for us, easily the play of the game.
The TD that soon followed set us up for the excitement of the last 28 seconds, where we were hoping for the Patriots to pick up a field goal and the game would go into overtime, but alas, it was not to be. Still, a satisfying game overall. I wholeheartedly approve.

If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.
Re: The 2008 NFL Playoffs
I loved the wonderful commentary when Joe Buck said that they should probably go for it on 4th, it was just like "yeah, ya think?" That was almost as bad as a Madden comment.Martin Blank wrote:When New York was setting up for fourth and one with 1:34 remaining, we were all talking about how this was perhaps going to decide the game, because if the Giants couldn't pull off first down, even with their remaining time outs, they probably weren't going to get another chance.
It was also kind of humerous watching Buck make big doe eyes to Aikman through out the game. At least Aikman and Buck are far better than the NFL network announcers.
