Anyhoo, sounds like everyone has their transportation arrangements worked out. If something doesn't work out I can swing by ORF and pick up someone. Only one person though as the Miata only fits 2

Re: 2008 RLF Gathering Travel Thread
I'll be leaving Saturday morning from DC and arriving at the cottage around 3-4pm. I might drive down Friday night and stay at my parent's house depending on their situation. They're in the midst of moving to a new place right now so they might not have a room for me.

Re: 2008 RLF Gathering Travel Thread
OK, I suggest we have an actual setup with the approximate times of arrival, etc, so we can get this properly coordinated.
I am scheduled to arrive at ORF at 5pm (17:00) on Saturday, April 12. I will be renting a car. With a coupon, I should be ending up with a full size vehicle (probably a Dodge Charger or equivalent) and can accommodate up to 3 additional people. At this point, to the best of my recollection, no one has claimed a seat yet, so it's still wide open. Those hitching a ride will be expected to chip in for gas and potentially help with some of the rental fee.
I am scheduled to depart ORF at 12:50pm (12:50) on Sunday, April 20. I can accommodate up to 3 additional people.
If you do want a ride, please do not expect me to wait at the airport for several hours coming in (there's no Admiral's Club in Norfolk) or go into the airport in the wee hours for an early morning flight.

I should arrive at ORF at 9:45 AM, Saturday, April 12. I'll be on flight CO3220. I should depart from ORF 6:14 PM, Sunday, April 20, 2008. I should just have a backpack and a mid-size suitcase with me.
I need fewer water.

Do you need a ride? If so, those times would work with mine, except that you'd be waiting at the airport for a few hours either way (you get in earlier and leave later than I do).
Why/how the hell do you arrive at ORF so damn early in the morning??

I had my flight changed on me. (Fuck you, American Airlines.)
I now arrive at ORF at 1:05 p.m. Sat, 4/12. I leave at 6:35 p.m., Sun, 4/20. Currently, I still plan to ride with baghead.

Re: 2008 RLF Gathering Travel Thread
Actually, I haven't set up a ride for departure, so I'd be glad to get one going back. I already have a ride to the house, though. I specifically chose that time because the tickets were really cheap at that point and I wanted to make sure I arrived early enough to get a ride.Deacon wrote:Do you need a ride? Perhaps we can get Liz (or another mod/admin) to update the original post with all this info so we can get this all straight more easily.
Who are you riding with, and do they know that?

Re: 2008 RLF Gathering Travel Thread
If I remember correctly, you are riding to and from the airport with baghead, Arc. It would be very silly to make you get to the airport at around 11am when your plane doesn't leave until after 6.
As far as I can tell Deacon, everyone else is covered, so you probably will be riding with yourself.
If I can edit the main post I'll throw in the travel info if Liz doesn't beat me to it.

I updated the first post to include all the travel information that I could find. If anything needs to be changed or updated, please let me know. It appears that everyone is all set and ready to go!

Interesting. I guess that's one side effect of the four of you arriving early, too.

You're not the only one. I like that they didn't even email me (although granted the biggest change is only 25 minutes)Sophira wrote:I had my flight changed on me. (Fuck you, American Airlines.)

Yeah, It'll take me near 23 hours just to get from home to Atlanta. Even my coach journey to Gatwick includes a connection at Heathrow.Jezebel editing Lizzegirle wrote:BtEO-- Arrangements made

You doof. We are not arriving early. We are arriving in the late morning/early afternoon on the first day. If anything, you're arriving late, and aside from second segment-comers, you will in fact be the last person to arrive!Deacon wrote:Interesting.
