Congrats on the big 70!
You'd think they could sell you one of those nifty gryphons we've all been riding around as transportation for the past three years... but no.
Well, soon you'll have to start the slugging to 80! Have fun...

you'd think that the first gryphon you got was 100% speed instead of 60%, it's like having your level 60epic horse (cat/ram/robochicken/whatever) then suddenly dropping back to the level 40 version. i still need to get my epic flying mount on my pally and mage and then the regular flying mounts on my hunter and priest when they hit 70. thats alot of money to save up...

I am almost exactly where you guys are with my druid she is at level 69.4 with normal xp right now
so everything is half the xp I'm used to getting so I am ever so slowly creeping to 70. On the plus side being a druid I got flight form at 68 which was nice. Even though you aren't going as fast as your epic mount it's still nice to be able to go straight to where you want and no mob fighting unless you want to. Congrats!

Gratz Man. I am only now 56 with my Pally. But I have no problem with money. If I am running low I just farm ore and I can boost it back up in the hundreds.

Re: 4 Feb 2008 - ./grats
I have 2 -70th lvl PCs and part of me wants to giggle. But that would be cruel as I know it's a very long process and to suddenly get a 60% flyer seems a slap in the face. Take heart though and realize that while you fly you can't really be bothered by NPCs. Just remember that on PVP servers to park yourself somewhere a good distance away from a landable spot otherwise you'll be spirit resing.
On the otherhand you really did take your time getting to 70 so wow now you can get to work on getting that 5200 gold for the epic flyer. 5k for the training and 200 for the mount itself. I will admonish you for asking for donations though it makes you look like a celebrity suckup that wants the easy way, Sorta like Eddie Griffith and that Enzo he crashed. It is possible to get the money and it would probably take you a few weeks puttering around on that 60% mount to get the cash but then after you get the first epic it really starts to roll in if you're smart with your professions. I know cause both my 70's have epic flyers.
Happy trails

Yeah, you could do dailies but that gets boring in a hurry. I like the AH myself. If you have good crafting professions, they can be quite the moneymaker. And by good, I mean 375 with many of the patterns/plans/recipes/etc... But then I've been 70 for close to year so I got a bit of a headstart, lol. Congrats to Greg and Liz on hitting 70 though.
What can I say that hasn't already been said?
Re: 4 Feb 2008 - ./grats
No I think I do get it, quite clearly in fact. I realize it could be a joke, but the sucking up done to Gabe and Tycho, Albrecht from Diggnation and TRS, Kurtz and his PVP crew. Don't tell me that these guys don't have cash on hand and if they make a few under-the-table remarks that they don't get what the need. Why I have a 65 parked on Dark Iron is because an off-hand comment was made to "help" gabe get his epic mount, the quotes were theirs not mine.Greg Dean wrote:....wow.mier wrote:I will admonish you for asking for donations though it makes you look like a celebrity suckup that wants the easy way, Sorta like Eddie Griffith and that Enzo he crashed.

If this isn't the case then I am willing to apologize if this is not the case then the critizism is justified.

I can understand what you are saying, especially since our guildies help us out so much, but I know that it was just a joke. Someone once offered to buy us our epic horses, and we turned them down. They worked hard for that money, and we should have to work hard too.

Is there a wiki for World of Warcraft? It would be interested to see how much you would have to "make" to get all that you'd need to have a fully decked out 70+ level character. (armor, spells, flying jalopy, etc.)

The big secret isn't Dalies, although they do help, it's gathering. The dalies you are limited at first, you have to do the ogrila quests starting at the ring of blood in blade's edge. Then at the most you can do 10 dalies at 9-11g each. (4 at Ogrila, 2 at Skettis, 1 heroic dungeon run, 1 regular run, 1 pvp, 1 cooking) after you get your epic fly riding skill you can do the shadowmoon valley dalies instead. I did those when I got bored. Gathering is what I did for the big money.
Crumpet (yes as in the brit snack for tea) on Archimonde is a Miner/Herbalist. It was slow at first but before long he got the money for his epic and then the cash rolled in as I few around hitting every mining node and the occasional herb. Or I did some big herb runs because fel lotus usually sells like heroin in a whore house. Get auctioneer and keep an eye on the auction house so you don't get screwed on prices. Also you'll get green gems which sell for good money and the blue gems you can keep yourself a stash and get a friend to make in to gems for your armor.
Good luck and watch your back hordies don't like to share Khroium and Rich Adamantite.

Bah, I had all of Shadowmoon and Netherstorm to help me with money and the dailies and it helped but I do feel a little burned on the inside but there is one thing that helps:

Well 3 things. Working on the gold for the Hippogryph got the rep.
And yes I did signup just for this post
