Let me be the first to say, I do not like Dave's new sunglasses. And really, if he's going to go all matrix or gangster-ish, he really should be wearing a trenchcoat.

Maybe he wasn't going to gangster or Matrix.
He was simply aiming for "awesome"
Personally, when I aim for awesome I use the shotgun technique. A spray pattern misses plenty, sure. But at least one piece of shot is going to hit the mark.
As such, I WILL be using that line. "Protectin from not looking awesome"

My sig would have contained the secret of life, but I'd already clicked submit.

Screw Tony, Dave looks awesome in the sunglasses.

I thought the weapon choice a bit odd as well lol. If I ever get into anything nefarious I think I'll go with a Springfield Socom II.

I'd go with blaster rifles myself.

Whatever the weapon choice please get their fingers off the triggers before they have an unfortunate discharge.
And Dave should keep the sunglasses so we don't see him blink when he shoots.

Actually the weapons kind of look like the guns in the game Portal. Maybe they should hunt for cake as well.

The comic gets bonus points from me for the use of P90sHTRN wrote:All I have to say is.. P90's?! Greg needs to watch less Stargate.![]()

Bah, I love Stargate, but they really pushed it with the P90's hitting long distance targets. They are submachine guns, and somehow i really doubt they would be able to penetrate space faring civilazation armor.
I really think they should have used AK's, just because of all the differnt environments they would end up in, just in one episode. I'm no weapons expert, but the common knowledge i'm privy to suggests you can't break those things.
Oh, and Murphy's law basically states that Dave's glasses will fall and break at some point next week.

I think that since we're dealing with Tony, the weapons are only superficially similar to P-90, like in Star Wars you can see stormies hauling MG-34, not to mention Han's blaster.
I noticed a long time ago that the sleek and sexy lines of P-90 attract visial artists

It's no surprise that most here associate P90s with SG, and I'm sure that's exactly what Greg was going for, but they're actually quite powerful and useful little weapons (fully automatic carbines) However, in an episode I just recently saw, involving that Kitano guy, the accuracy they portrayed with the P90 when Carter demonstrated it was way off: P90 rounds tumble. A lot. This increases damage when hitting a living target, but vastly decreases their accuracy at long range.
Mostly they're the weapon of choice for close to mid-range fire fights against superior numbers, and they are able to penetrate some armor, which is why they were used in SG-1 and later Atlantis. First SG-1 to penetrate Goa'uld armor and then in Atlantis to cause as much physical damage to the Wraith per round as possible. As I understand it, they're also extremely reliable weapons in the field, but that could just be company propaganda
Okay, I went a bit off topic there, but what the hey. It's good to see the comic do something like this again, story-line wise. I know it's a 'real life' comic, but lets face it, some of the best past story lines were those that involved time travel, alternate reality hopping, etc

Fuck yeah. The lack of real life stuff in the past may have been a bit excessive, given the comic's very title, but, now I think there's just a tad too much.Kataar wrote:It's good to see the comic do something like this again, story-line wise. Apart from the Star Gate weaponry and the maybe Matrix glasses, has no one noticed they're standing on a Star Trek transporter pad? :p
