Ooops

Post by delney » Tue Feb 19, 2008 6:48 pm

I should've made sure I did this before I got to 31 posts. I thought I posted here, but network issues at work appear to have eaten that thread. I've been reading Real Life for probably 3 years now, I think.

Anyway.. I'm 33, married, with two little boys (almost 5 and 21 months). Like everyone else around here, I migrated to Central Texas. After growing up in NY and spending 10 years in Northern Virginia, I moved to Austin in the fall of '06. We settled in Round Rock in a great house backing to Brushy Creek (which did suck when we had that flooding last summer). It's worth it to have a spot my boys (including the grown-up one) can go fishing at any time we like.

I work as a Project Manager and Technical Writer mostly doing Six Sigma work for a financing company. Basically I do whatever work my boss finds that no one else on our team can do. I'm also a student, doing classes online for my bachelor's (dropped out after 3 semesters the first time around).

Welcome?
Well, nice to find out more about you anyway.
Is it true they're renaming Texas to Real Life State?

Heh. I dunno - I think they should. Oddly, on another forum I've frequented since 2003 (ex-DAoCers), a bunch of us have moved to TX as well.

Yes. Get back here, traitor, and we might forgive you.

But first we're making you wear OU colors in downtown Austin all weekend as punishment for your betrayal.

But I was only nine when I moved! :(

I like living in Round Rock. I need one of those bumper stickers 'Keep Round Rock Mildly Unusual'

I saw that on a guy's shirt in the mall the other day and almost hurt myself laughing. He was walking between a *VERY* large woman and a teen-aged boy in full emo mode.
