Does not compute. Honestly, you're doing more to make yourself look stupid than he did. Also, trying to argue with Deacon is not usually a good idea.sugarglass wrote:I don't like being proven wrong. I don't care to be proven wrong

I don't see what difference it makes between holding your eyes open and training yourself to keep your eyes open. It proves that you can sneeze with your eyes open, be it through physical or mental force.

lol, I dont know exactly what was going on there. I've been staring at it for about 10 minutes trying to find out what it was that I was trying to say. I'm thinking it was something along the line of "It's not like I dont like to be proven wrong." But even them that just incorrect, so I dont know.
And I'm not trying to argue, I'm just re-countering. If that constitutes arguing, then so be it. But I'm not afraid of him making me look stupid, or anyone else for that matter. Like you said, I can do that pretty well on my own when my fingers start flying on the keyboard and I don't pay attention to what I write, so I don't need anyone else to do that for me.

Re: The Stupid Facts/Information/Advice Thread
I found this one.
In ancient Rome, when a man testified in court he would swear on his testicles.
If this is true, I'd like to know what the actual oath was. "I swear on my nuts that I will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."
"Sir, I'd like to remind you that you swore on your balls."
I also wonder why I haven't heard a modern version of swearing on your testicles. "Dude, I swear my two grapes she came onto me."

I think what you were trying for (with the second sentence at least) is "I don't care if I'm proven wrong"sugarglass wrote:Arc Orion wrote:Does not compute. Re: The Stupid Facts/Information/Advice Thread
I remember hearing that one, and that it's supposedly the origin of the word "testify". I also seem to remember, but not where I found out, that it's just a myth. A funny myth, but still.

We need to bring this back. We also need to make it translate to a much tougher punishment for perjury.Hirschof wrote:I found this one.

This does present a bit of a problem given that in todays society females appear in court as well. The Cid wrote:We need to bring this back. We also need to make it translate to a much tougher punishment for perjury.Hirschof wrote:I found this one.

Eponymous is an adjective refers to a title of a work that is the name of the artist or lead character. It is most often used when referring to a musician's self-titled album, usually their debut album. It can also be used to describe additional things such as scientific theories and technologies, such as Alan Turing's eponymous test.

Or she could swear on her own gonads. It's not like women don't have analogous structures to the balls (and to the penis, as a random fact), that grow out of the exact(?) same embryonic structures, after all.

Fuggle's going to punch a girl right in the ovaries.

Re: The Stupid Facts/Information/Advice Thread
There is a difference however... 99% of men would be rather averse to castration. However I've known many a female who would be just as happy if their ovaries left and never came back.StruckingFuggle wrote:Or she could swear on her own gonads.
