Suave introduction. Or is it?

Post by Slordrevan » Sat Mar 01, 2008 9:00 pm

Well, I've been a member for over two years. Posted once, forgot about the forums, but not the comic.

Thus, I shall attempt to remedy that.

I am fifteen years of age, a freshman in Highschool. It is my first year in public school, as I have been home schooled in all the years before then.

I have a supreme interest in the German language and culture, but sadly, I am not fluent in the least. About 90% of the music I listen to is indeed German, or German made.

My hobbies are writing and role-playing, however, I have not been able to play Dungeons and Dragons or any of its ilk.

I guess reading would be a hobby, but it's more of a way of life. I've read approximately 3,000 books in my relatively short lifespan, and I am reading the Forgotten Realms series.

That should be sufficient, I suppose.

... the Forgotten Realms series. I find that statement very amusing, since Forgotten Realms is made up of many different series of books, whose only connection is that they are in the same world. Calling all of Forgotten Realms a series, is like calling the entirety of Star Trek (i.e. the 5 series, 10 movies, and innumerable books and video games) A television show.

That said, I have read various Forgotten Realms books from a few different authors... I highly recommend R.A. Salvatore's work as he is one of the best writers of D&D based books I've read. Specifically the Cleric Quintet, and the Legend of Drizzt Books (currently 17 books and counting), and the Sellswords trilogy which spins off the Drizzt books later on.

My apologies if you consider that a mistake, I shall not repeat it again in the future.

R.A. Salvatore is the main author that I have read the works of.

I went down the Dragonlance path, as opposed to Forgotten Realms... Margaret Weis and Traci Hickman were a very good team. I found the stories that revolved around Raistlin to be exceedingly interesting. I haven't read any since I got out of college though.
