Re: Sharing the Addiction
As far as I know, one cannot destroy cities. Looting appears to be the only option, though I could be wrong.
By the way, I've decided to create a city in Beta. It's called Imbignar, and its position is at 19:71.

Re: Sharing the Addiction
I do not mean to destroy, just over run and take over cities. If I start on the farthest reaches I could collect material and build a great force before trying to dominate the other players. I will have to be quick about it if I am going to succeed since I am new to the game and have to make up for lost time. Which is why I would enjoy the General position in the alliance.Arc Orion wrote:As far as I know, one cannot destroy cities. Looting appears to be the only option, though I could be wrong.

Re: Sharing the Addiction
Started an account, although its hard to say how dedicated I will be.
Is this something I can check up on once (or twice) a day for a few minutes, or that takes alot of time and planning etc?
Also, you mentioned having more than one city - is that done by having people from one of your cities start a second one when your city is big enough, or by creating more than one account?
I may need slow and detailed instructions on things here - it looks interesting but I can be slow to catch on at times :p

Re: Sharing the Addiction
Attention required depends on projects you have going. Early on in a given city, projects may be completed in as little as about 14 minutes, but as time goes on, the three-hour projects will seem small. I generally check in about every two hours or so for building status, citizen assignment to jobs (when available), and to keep up to date on when stupid neighbors are pillaging my supplies (recent sound drubbing when he attacked with 34 slingers against my 40 slingers plus one upgraded phalanx behind a L2 wall seems to have slaked his thirst for the moment, but I'm waiting for the next round).
Science is a little less hands-on, as it follows a tech tree. Eventually, you'll get into things that take 12-15 hours (and sometimes even days) to research.
Military falls in between. You can queue up unit training, and it will train them in order.

If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

Okay, I guess I have done more reading. In the military field of the research is Governor. This allows you to first pillage and then use and manage it. Too bad the training time is 25 days with my current research rate. Need to upgrade.Arc Orion wrote:As far as I know, one cannot take over cities. Re: Sharing the Addiction
Ok guys, you peaked my interest. I've started a town named Rochester on the island of Lionyios. Let me play with this over the weekend and i'll see what kind of havoc I can cause on my island. I don't even know how to do anything yet, so as soon as i figure out how to kick these punks off my island I'll hit you up for that alliance or what not.
Oh, name is YellowTail in the game also.

The feature isn't enabled yet. Even those with Governor can't use it, or so I understand from their forums.Cyberliger777 wrote:Okay, I guess I have done more reading. Man, that bites. There goes my hope of world domination.
Could anyone send me some glass? I am in need of some to develop my research to make it to another island and expanded my resources.

Re: Sharing the Addiction
I've also signed up for "Beta" world, but some of my other friends have joined the same server, and we've had some problems with one friend not being able to see anyone else. Oh, we figured it out. Apparently he registered on ikariam.com instead of ikariam.org. So make sure you catch that when sending links to friends, as Arc mentioned earlier.

Player: Sephidroth
Island: Mucios (69,27)
Town: Granthador
Island Resource is Sulphur
I'm about hitting the point where I need crystal and/or marble to continue devolping.
I can trade Gold, Building Material, or Sulphur.
Which of these should I concentrate on producing, and how much will I need for a certain amount of crystal/marble.
Also, what's the official name of the alliance? "RLF" or what?
