Re: Sharing the Addiction
Build and upgrade embassies.
But to do that, you need Foreign Cultures. If you want it the quickest, you'll need to focus on Seafaring, and then start upgrading your academies.

If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

Re: Sharing the Addiction
I went ahead and sent alliance invites to everyone who posted their town location so far - when you get the research done, go ahead and accept.
We will rule the world!
Re: Sharing the Addiction
I got the invite, but without crystal to further expand my Acadamy the research rate is pretty slow. I'm guessing it will be around 2 days until I have the necessary research done. i just hope embassies don't need marble to build!

Re: Sharing the Addiction
Tell me what you need, material-wise, and I can help you out. Keep in mind, though, that any trade fleets I send will probably take quite a long time to get there.

For reference, the alliance's name is "RL Forums". Just so you know. Get building on those alliances, foo!
Re: Sharing the Addiction
I'm on a sulphur island, and desperately need crystal and marble in order to continue upgrading anything. There doesn't seem to be any for sale within range of my trading post, and so far my random pillaging attempts have netted very little.

Re: Sharing the Addiction
Generally upgrading your trading post should give you more distance to search, so you'll have an easier time with it.
I'll send you 600 of each for now - if you need more, let me know. Looks like it's going to take about 12 hours to get there though, so sit tight.

If you can I could use some marble and crystal as well. I can't upgrade my trade post to search further than one island without more marble. Thanks.

Re: Sharing the Addiction
I want to get my own colonies going but I need a lot of marble to get my palace upgraded. I am planning of making my first colony on a marble island, but that means I am going to need some wine to satisfy my people. If I could get about 300 wine I would love it. That should last me until I make it to a wine island.

Re: Sharing the Addiction
So as I'm getting farther into the game, I'm starting to realize that I need a bit of help, as I have no access to crystal and marble (like everyone else). My question is, do we need to start paying for this? I've discovered the ambrosia and how it can help me, but i don't want to be playing if I'm going to NEED to pay up after a certain point. I REALLY enjoy playing, I can't seem to put it down, but can I get away with never buying any ambrosia?

Re: Sharing the Addiction
Once you get some colonies up, yes. I'm willing to donate a little here and there, though some trade treaties would be useful once you get to that point. It lets everyone know what you need and what you can pay for it.
You can have as many colonies as you have palace levels. Your capital does not count as a colony, so as soon as you have your palace, you can place your first colony (presuming you have the available resources).
