I just started up the town of AdCiv. Should have a port in an hour.

No, you do not need ambrosia. I started off on a Sulfur island, and just kept checking the marketplace until I got enough stone to complete my palace and move to an island with marble. I now have all four resources neatly in my pocket, and can do pretty much whatever I please.

No ambrosia purchased.

I feel smarter knowing that Greg started on a sulpher island also, and we came up with the same plan to move on to a marble one.

Update - thanks to the help with supplies, I have a colony founded. If anyone's keeping track, its

I raided for extra materials while waiting for the shipment from Greg to arrive

In the end, I still needed the gold I got from a couple of the raids to jump start my colony founding.

In order to have troops or ships away from your town (pillaging raid, trade mission, etc) it uses one of your action points, which you get back when that mission is over. i.e. if you have 3 action points, then you can have raids against 3 different cities going on at once, or 2 raids and a trading mission, etc.

This is neat. I've started a city in Beta.

I have a port, and am upgrading my town hall. I have wood and crystal on my island, but none of anything else. Can't yet mine crystal, but hope to within the next day.
