I got your invite to the alliance and am working hard to build my embassy. Once I get the glass from Arc I can upgrade my Academy and make it faster.

In 22* hours I will have a palace. In 24* hours I will have a colony. 24 hours for Paper, 39.5* Hours for Wine Press. 56* hours for Espionage and in 72* hours I will have an Foreign Cultures and an embassy.
*at current rates

If anyone would like to help speed this up some, please send 50 Crystal to Rasios[26:44] > AdCiv

I did not know until now, academy's on different colonies can increase you time. Totally kicking researches ass right now.

I think you have a typo in that sentence. Can someone with a colony post a bit about it? Is it just like the starting town or what?

How do you build a palace? I built my academy and my barracks and my port, but after that, there's nothing left to build. I assume I need to research something, but I've been unable to figure out what.

OMG that was so helpful.

You know what would have also been helpful? Spending the same amount of time you just spent typing a completely nonsensical sentence and actually typing the prerequisites to building a palace. Building prerequisits are not in the game helpfiles.

I have since found the answer, but seriously...would it have hurt so much to type "You need to research Expansion first"? I wasn't worried about a speedy reply, obviously, as I just started...I was simply curious.

People who respond to simple questions with links to http://www.google.com or other inane replies piss me off. Is it really that hard to lend a little advice?

It's actually very, very different from Civ. You should be able to start any time.
