Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of not having them kill me anytime soon. You know, a peace offering so I can have peace of mind.

I have a question for all those people who bleieve in god here.

How do you know that the bible is true. Its a book thats supposodly 5000 years old. What atopped it from being written by a guy who just sat down one day and said. 'Hey! I have a cool idea! I'll create a false religion and make some fake evidence! It would be so funny if people believed in it". What stopped it from being a nutcase who wrote down these things because of voices in his head. What stops the thing from being fake

The Old Testament is made up of books written over the course of about 2000 years by various authors.

The New Testament is made up of books and letters written by numerous authors over the course of a couple of hundred years.

There is ample archaeological evidence for both. Whether you believe it is divine or not, there is more than enough evidence to show that it has many authors and the material was written over a wide period of time.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

But is there evidence to prove that what written is divine and from the gods?

The common argument is faith, Angel. However, thats not the best. Since its obvious few people actually bother to LEARN about the topics they talk about...

There was this fellow by the title of Saint Thomas Aquinas. He has, to DATE, given the best points to your questions in his work titled the 'Summa Theologia' on this issue. It is not a dry read at all, and it's structure is quite brilliantly placed so even a layman can observe and ponder upon his points made.

He ultimatly makes 3 main points in this text, all of which adress your questions. They are made QUITE plain. Since I honestly want to see if you're just a senseless troll or an educated person who wants to learn, I will NOT directly quote or sum up this source, and instead demand that you go out and read the damn thing yourself.

Do post back if you find it. Might even be a copy online in html\pdf form.

Nice. Took me a minute to realize they had cross-referenced everything. But the reason I like books is because its easyer for me to mark and reference things.

At least focus on the parts where Aquinas adresses what sort of teaching Christian theology is and what it covers. Where ever the heck that is on this damn website...books will never die.

Edit: Ah, found it using my own books as a guide. Read 'Secunda Secundæ Partis' on that website.

Hmm, never heard of that one before. I mainly read law and history books though, not ones on theology
