8-15-08 - Five Rings
And here I am, sleeping on California Time, staying up to watch them. Besides, the gymnastics make up for the lack of other entertainment this week.

The television coverage sucks so I just watch it online.
...and I don't watch television so I'm not missing anything by the program interruption.

Mythbusters. A new episode, "Viral Video Hour" was supposed to air on Wednesday. However, less than a half-hour before it was scheduled to air, Discovery announced on the Mythbuster's forum that the episode would not show as planned, and neither would next week's episode (Ninjas 2). Commercials promoting the new episode continued to air, even during the repeat that showed in it's place. While it's not official that the Olympics were the cause of the cancellation, it's a common theory.iheartbenaffleck wrote:dude, it's the summer. what shows could mr greg dean, in the comic world or real world, possibly be missing because of the olympics?

'Seasons' and 'no new tv in the summer' seems to be a rather outmoded concept, ancient and archaic.
There's plenty of new first-run content on right this very week.

Re: 8-15-08 - Five Rings
No, but other channels do. And they're drawing some pretty huge numbers. Which means fewer people are watching other channels, such as the Discovery Channel and Sci-Fi. In other words, they're competing for viewers when they might be better off simply waiting for the hubbub to die down. It's like trying to premier a show on USA during the same time slot as the Superbowl. Dumb idea.bagheadinc wrote:I don't think that Sci Fi channels airs the Olympics.

"Durrr... The people on the West Coast won't mind waiting 2 hours to watch the Olympics! No one's gonna ruin it or anything. It's not like there's this worldwide, constantly updating network -- a web, if you will -- connecting the West Coast with the rest of the world."

So I'm the only one whose mind went "MCCLANAHAN!!!!!!"?
Re: 8-15-08 - Five Rings
You shouldnt blame the olympics. You should blame your stupid tv programming people. what are they called NBC? they are the ones that screwed with the schedule of the Olympics so that you could all watch Phelps win gold during "Prine Time" So its really your fault that they reprogrammed your programs.
