August 18, 2008: The CD is dead, long live the CD.

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

I make use of CDs in college for giving files to professors, but only for contests and such as I can just transfer files to their hard drive more easily using a USB drive.

The last time I used a CD, however, was to update my XBox 360 as I have yet to shell out the necessary cash for the wireless adapter I would need to use XBox Live.

I actually burned a CD the other day for my husband to take to work and play in the CD player there.

On used cars, you should have either a tape deck or AUX port, either one of which can be used with the headphone jack of your MP3 player to play your tunes however you want.

The CD is not the floppy disk yet, primarily because programs can still be installed on them and because they're still cheaper than DVDs. Besides, a DVD reader can still read CDs fine :)

I'd argue that the flash stick is the new floppy. Especially given how cheap the smaller ones can be bought for.

I just threw away a bunch of zip disks. I'm not even sure where they came from... I haven't used one since high school.

That reminds me. I need to clean out my organ banks. Anyone have a need for 5.25" floppy drives?

Here is something interesting about this comic, it is currently on the second page of Digg with 1144 Diggs.

it's called an FM transmitter not funny ports or lug ins required. It connects to your MP3 player (does not need to be an ipod) tune to one of the radio frequencys that it tells you to and you and your MP3 player are now happy.

Personally I prefer to take the Timothy Dexter route to punctuation I find it much more enjoyable and it gives the reader many more options as to how they might read my text However I disagree with his decisions on spelling

The FM transmitters are good, but slightly problematic. Your best bet, should you go this route, is to get one that is also a power source for your <insert music device here>, that way it's an all-in-one thing. The only problem is that you're really not going to find a station without static on it. Sometimes it's not really noticable, but it's there. Even in a small town that doesn't have that many radio stations I still can't find a station that doesn't get at least a small amount of noticable static. Listening to podcasts is troublesome, because they are usually at a lower volume than normal music, so you get a constant static throughout.

I can listen to the song "The Dream of Evan and Chan" by the Postal Service, though. That's fine.
