Re: What Should I Play
Punctuation.
FFXI should only be played if you have all the expansions and, more importantly, people to play it with. It's hard to play FFXI solo as levelling past 10 requires a decent group. Great story line, though, if you're interested (and want to do dynamis past 67).
That's all I can really suggest.

February was some lyrics or quotes month or something. I don't even remember what year all this was.

WoW doesn't have bosses that take over 18 hours to beat.

Thank God for that. However a solid Raid (even a well practiced one) can easily be 5+ hours. Which is more than enough if you ask me.

Re: What Should I Play
I played WoW for about a year, off and on. I got tired of it very fast, although I do appreciate that it has a very open world. For most of the time, what I did in that game might be qualified under "tourism" or "sightseeing" more than playing a video game.
Fast forward to this summer, when a buddy of mine and I picked up FFXI. I thought I'd play it more than I do, but I've enjoyed it far more than WoW. For one, for an MMO it stays very true to a Final Fantasy game--although the battle system isn't the traditional turn-by-turn style, the menu and music for battle are familiar. As for the grouping up after L10, think of it this way: it's a Final Fantasy game! Of course you need to party up! This can take getting used to, but if you're going to play an MMO and not be social why not just play a single-player RPG?
My biggest frustration about XI is that it's not easy to travel between lands at an early level. Can't fly (until level 35), no tram to ride, and thus you can't really explore so much early on. I guess that helps fire one up to grind and trudge forward. Also, for various reasons (mainly that they cost extra), you are inclined to make fewer characters whereas in WoW one can make a seemingly unlimited amount of them.
My favorite feature of it though is something no other game I've ever heard of has: cross-platform online. I own the Xbox 360 version. The friends I play with, respectively, use a PC and a PS2. What that more games could have this nifty little feature.

Thanks guys I'll try ff11. Actually I read quite a bit (I want to be an author). I just don't normally pay attention to grammar when typing like this. Sorry.Rorschach wrote:Gowerlypuff wrote:Punctuation.A book.So what do you guys think i should pick up?

Re: What Should I Play
You listed a lot of good MMOs, but you left out the Guild Wars series. That's worth taking a look at, particularly since there are no server fees every month.

Team fortress or left 4 dead? Something you don't need to grind in imo.
