FFXI US style

Post by ixidor » Fri May 09, 2003 6:02 pm

They took down the link to sign up for the beat on the square enix site. I was just wondering if they have chose the beta testers yet? my guess is that they will be waiting for E3, but why would they? Would be a cool time to announce its opening. I most likly wont get in though. i've never beta tested any public games befor. i've been trying to download ragnarok online but been having some trouble.

Any way post here if ya signed up for the beta and are hopeing to get in. I'm new to mmorpgs and i need some friends.

I singed up for the beta, but I think that the testers have already been selected. One of my friends, who is almost as obsessed with FFXI as I am, has a friend who is a tester. If I had been a tester, I'd have known already. I feel your pain. But hey, when XI comes out, me and Adam need a third party member anyway.

FFXI I schedueled for release in early November, it really doesn't take that long to do beta testing, especially on a game that is simply a port from another language. THe only things the beta test really needs to get into is making sure all their translations are correct and testing their servers.

[edit: just so there is no confusion, i recieved this on the 22nd of May]
I didn't want to start a new topic...
But I'm pretty positive that the beta testers have been selected
This letter is to notify you that you've been chosen as a confirmed Beta
Tester to test PlayOnline(TM), FINAL FANTASY(R)XI and Tetra Master(TM) on
the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. The Public Beta Test will
begin in June. A Beta Test kit including the Internal Hard Disk Drive (40GB)
(for PlayStation(R)2) will be mailed to the address you've provided in the
coming weeks with detailed instructions.

Important - Beta Testers

The HDD shipped for use in the public beta test for PlayOnline, FINAL
FANTASY XI and Tetra Master is only compatible for use with the PlayOnline,
FINAL FANTASY XI and Tetra Master beta test software. Use or attempted use
with any other software or use outside of the beta test may harm or
interfere with the operation of your PlayStation(R)2 system or other
devices.

Upon conclusion of the Beta Test, Sony Computer Entertainment America
requires you to return the beta test HDD in the original beta kit box using
the return-shipping label enclosed in your kit.

Once Sony Computer Entertainment America receives the beta test HDD unit and
in appreciation for your participation in the Beta Test, SCEA will send you
a new consumer HDD unit, free of charge.

Please reference the Beta Test Handbook for details (inside your Beta Test
Kit). If you have any questions, please reply to this email address and
include your full name in your letter.

Thank you for your continued interest and support of PlayOnline.

See you online,

PlayOnline Information Center Team
Now I'm pretty positive I'm in it, but then again this could be a mysterious hoax fabricated just to confuse me.

yea, that's pretty awesome. I fixed my router manually today in preperation for it. I forgot I loaned out my m-player games though. So all I had was a EQOA demo sans subscription key. After about an hour of looking though I found the setup disk and played some Freq online.
