I need advice and literature

Post by jeredwilloughby » Fri Sep 05, 2008 8:00 am

Ok, I was raised in a relatively small town. The zeitgeist was southern baptist and behind the information age. This is my second year on my own and I'm really lost. I found the 48 laws of power and now I'm freaking. I can recall when people used these tactics on me. Are these political strategies unavoidable? Is there a better defense to avoid animosity. Is there relative literature? Thank you for your time.

Nicolo Machiavelli's The Prince

from what i understand (I haven't read your book yet) the 48 laws of power are basically a version of machiavelli for those who don't know about or are to lazy to read machiavelli. if anyone who's read both wants to correct me feel free

Robert Greene's blog
i don't hate everyone equally, there are levels. but none of them are the traditionally thought of standards for predjudice. its not based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation its based on how much the person annoys me personally. i count you as a friend since you annoy me very little. brittney spears is an enemy because even though i don't know her/care about her at all she still finds a way to annoy me every time i turn on the tv

Who knows? Although it's sweet nonsense.
Is there a better defense to avoid animosity

Stop trying to apply trendy, bite-sized chunks of vague bollocks intended for cut-throat 80s businesses and conquering Asia to real life.
And avoid anyone else who does as they're invariably teenaged fiddlers who read too much and need to get out into the fresh air to conquer their fear of women.
