I've got over 3 weeks of vacation time saved up as well as the money saved up... I'm going!

I am kind of concerned about viability of that house for this year. I really do want to do it, but as of right now, a lot of the regulars are unable to go for various reasons (money, vacation time, family expansion). It will still be in September, the third or fourth week.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

By 4th week are you talking 21st or 28th?
There's a possibility I may be able to go on the week of the 21st.
I really need a new sig....

It doesn't really help us that we don't have anything definite yet for dates. Money becomes less of an issue the greater the time we have to obtain it.

I am planning on going for the week, but I also need to know as soon as possible the dates and have the ability to put a deposit down.

As a reminder to those out of the country, I also volunteered to drive people down that are flying into Dulles International or Baltimore International airports. I will be borrowing a van for the trip.

For reference, I'm very seriously considering road-tripping it this year instead of flying (go go beach crawling jeep!), but that may depend quite a lot on whether I can get anyone to go with me, as I don't know how I feel about driving alone that long and that far... Maybe I'd get a CB radio installed...

I'm booked for the most of September. I have a conference in the second week, a martial arts exam in the third, and then I have a week to get ready for wherever Nat and I are going for our one year anniversary.

I'd say you're going to go on road trip with me to NC, but that may not work...

Yeah, North Carolina is a beautiful and romantic vacation spot. Imagine taking her on a wild horse tour on the beach at sunset! :D

We'll see. :) There is a really good chance the company conference will be canceled (costs) and our anniversary is on the 4th of October. I'm sure she would love a trip up the east coast and wouldn't mind celebrating early. The only thing that is locked is the 19th (exam). I've been waiting for that day for nearly a decade.

Awesome. Nervous?

And actually, Liz isn't kidding. I might even let you borrow the Jeep...

Now I wonder if they target Texas tags over there.

Not really.
Spoiler: (click to reveal/hide)
I was almost ready to test six years ago but college screwed everything up. I've been on a managed diet since I learned the date. Hopefully, I will be about 20 lbs lighter (and with more "lung capacity") because these exams are normally a brutal trial of endurance. I know my instructor is going to make it especially difficult for me since I'm 25, in good shape, and have 17 years of experience.
As the summer progresses I will see how things are going. I know that isn't what Martin needs to hear but I just can't give an answer at this point in time. It would be a nice trip... plus I've always wanted to fish further up the Atlantic seaboard. :P

Beach rides are awesome! That's kind of code around here for sex. If someone asks you if you wanna go for a "beach ride" they are trying to hook up with you. You can't beat it for romantic though with a full moon overhead the waves shushing against the sand and a warm salty breeze coming in the windows. . . . . hmm think I might ask the hubby if he wants to go for a beach ride later :D

I was just going through some photos I'd backed up on CD when I was running out of space on my old iBook(Macbook has a bigger hard drive, so I was putting them all back into iPhoto), and I got to April 2007.

Going through pictures from the 2007 gathering makes me incredibly sad that I'm not able to go this year.

So really, anyone who thinks they can go should really make an effort to do it this year. One of the most enjoyable vacations I've ever taken!
