I wonder what implications this may have for the gay marriage debate...should the apparent repeated occurrence(s) of homosexuality in nature lend credibility to equality arguments?

Only if your definition of "nature" is "locked in a cage". The article did point out that this did not occur normally out in the wild...

Which ones? I would have figured that if it had been, the topic would have been about that, not about the animals in captivity....

Chimps, penguins, dolphins, plus another 1000 or so species in the wild and captivity. It is just occurs more in captivity.

And remember, regardless of their captive status, gay penguins (ala Tango Makes Three) are still a threat to the children.
