22/01/09 Don't get it

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

"TL;DR" is hardly obscure. Not knowing what it means is almost as bad as not knowing what "LOL" means. >.>

Reading through the comments I found this one particularly amusing
Quitting smoking will likely extend your life - but your headline reads that quitting "Cuts Risk of Death." The risk of death is 100% for all of us and smoking doesn't change it one bit.
I totally agree with tl;dr

Browsing in Firefox 3, I at first thought they'd pulled the Comments section as it was grayed out.
Upon loading it in Google Chrome however, everything worked fine...

What did I do to Firefox 3 to make that happen, This is like the 3rd time I've had issues loading content with Firefox and there's this really annoying bug that occurs sometimes when I click the "Bookmarks Tab" it saves the current page as a Bookmark (Just the word, nothing seems to be wrong with the Star Function )

Any clues?

You probably have NoScript installed or JavaScript disabled. Worked fine in my Firefox, but I noticed the comments loaded after the rest of the page, as if javascript was placing them there (which is very bad form).

after i had posted this morning and gone to work, it occured to me, i was pretty certain that one time greg made a rant about the use of TL;DR which at the time baffled me even more as to why he would then do what he openly loathed. after reading mav's post and greg's confirmation, it does make alot more sense

That's exactly right. I fucking hate so many web developers who use the wrong tools for the job. We can at least be glad these same shmucks didn't just make the whole thing a Flash site.

I beg your pardon, good sir. I believe it was *I* that said Ben should do it to a Yahoo News story. He was saying how people were commenting with "first" and "second" and then I said it would be hilarious to say tl;dr.
