10.01.2009 - Starparty

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

And once again, did they learn nothing from the Sliders incident?

well the only way this would work anyway would be if another stargate or device of similar function existed on another planet for tony's to connect to. also that naquada in the garage is probably the case of sour cherry bubbleyum leftover from the starship arc, remember greg bought a whole case of that when only a single pack would have been more than enough and there's a good chance it was overlooked during the initial raid by the feds since they wouldn't have known it was a fuel source at the time.

I feel compelled to nitpick - it's spelled "naqahdah" (or possibly "naquahdah", "naquadah" or "naquaada"), not "naquedah".

Other than that, seems about right for Tony.

Actually, according to Gateworld's Omnipedia and stargatehandbook.org, it's spelled Naquadah.

At least he's not trying to build a Fargate. ;)

Insanity is your friend. It keeps that pesky Real World at a distance.

Part of me is really excited to see the premier tomorrow. Part of me watches the trailers of people running around on a ship with the camera hovering 2 feet from the floor (just for effect) and I'm taken back to "Farscape".

Would Tony make the stargate from wood and brass? Whatever happened to that stuff anyway?
It just goes to show that you shouldn't kneel down, grab the third rail with both hands, and piss on it from three feet away.

In reference to your footnote, i will laugh if SyFy cuts to commercial at the 38 minute mark.

macloud, I'm hearing Tuesday for the UK, but double-check to be sure. So just days, not years.

Some of the characters are providing an unnecessary level of drama IMHO, but it could pan out. We'll see...

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly.

I was thinking about it and I guess i'm just very used to stargate humanity always having some some huge demon god brain sucker thing hovering above them easily being the antagonist. It's just a little strange to see the first episode be so human vs human. I watched the episode again and i think it's growing on me, possibly with the ferocity of a Con fungus.
