Okay, now I know that Enter the Matrix is fun.
Next question: Is it worth $50 plus tax?
or...
Is it better than Max Payne? Max Payne with Kung Fu 3.0?

It's one of those games where you'll either love it or hate it (or love it for a while and then get bored by it). I wouldn't say it's better than Max Payne (it's difficult to imagine any game of its genre that's better than Max Payne).

My advice is that if you're not a huge matrix fan who would buy the game anyway even if you find that it sucks, then you should probably rent it before buying (a sound philosophy anyway).

ok about the hacking, is it cheat codes or acctualy hacking?

With the hacking you basically get to explore the system - it's fun, but not particularly challenging. It allows you to view artwork and you can watch the FMV clips that you've seen so far. You also get to hear brief messages from Neo, Trinity and Morpheus.

Oh, and you get a "training" option... I hear that when you finish the game you get to use a sword...

Apparently on some systems there is a multiplayer cheat that allows you to have a one-on-one fight between (for instance) Agent Smith and Morpheus in the subway setting from the first movie (there are others but I forget who).

ok i've completed the XBOX version
which gives a really cool trailor for the film, being released this friday here, so i'm avoiding threads which tell about the film....

the game kicks ass on the xbox, the combat is spot on, the graphics are smooth and well made and i had no problems with sound.

the transition between in game engine and fmv is almsot seemless, noticeable but well thought out. the charectrer models are also quite good.

the game gets a bit repetitve, i found theirs a dominant strategy of disarming my openant then kicking him when he's on the floor...and the sword seems to only have 2/3 diferent animations, which after the first level of use gets depressing...

all in all i would have to say Shemue 2 offers a better storyline...but if you are a matrix fan you will enjoy it a lot.

Out of interest, who did you finish the game with? I'm playing it with Niobe and my favourite bit so far is kicking an agent's arse in the 'plane...

I am REALLY dissapointed with this game, I'm going to take it back and trade it in for something else..

ie. Red Faction 2, Robotech Battlecry, Metroid Prime, Zelda..

I loved it. The multi player is well worth it. Could have used a bit of polish on the meters though. They looked out of place.
I had that dream again. My world was black as night. Plagued by visions of a future world, I sang about these dreams, warning man of his demise. Wasted words that no one heard...

I know the truth is out there...

ETM is good, for the 5 mins that Ive played it, but a couple of my mates have taken the game back to were they brought it from because of various reasons:

1. Too Short
2. Shooting is poor
3. Rushed (buggy)
