2.10.2010 - Shields down

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

2.10.2010 - Shields down

Post by SevTiZ » Wed Feb 10, 2010 3:49 pm

That solution is EPIC! I'm going to have to nominate this for a Crowning Moment of Awesome!

Unfortunately, I'm willing to bet that the actual MMO won't let you pull off crazy-awesome, creative, Kobayashi Maru-worthy stunts like that. Oh, the irony....

I remember that in the beta - if you were in the unfortunate position of having food items in your character inventory while having 1 tribble, you could come back and your food items would be gone, and you'd have multiple. Little things like that made me laugh, and cry a bit, as I junked the extra tribbles.

Its still happening folks are breeding them now looking to get rare tribbles. I got a tribble farm going in my bank at moment. I toss a stack are too of food in every few days let them go at it.

So you're telling me Tribbles are this MMO's version of Chobos? Great.

Or Pokemon. Except these ones multiply faster.

Which makes me think of something:
Programmer #1: I have an idea! We'll make every 10^9th tribble a rare/collectible one!
Programmer #2: Are you nuts? These are tribbles we're talking about!
Programmer #1: Good point. Better make it 10^12.
Programmer #2: Now you're thinking.

And that, dear forumites, is why tabletop RPGs will never go out of style. GMs can improvise resolutions to crazy-awesome player stunts; MMO programmers cannot.

HAHAHA! Nice. :)

(And yes, I realize you can't beam through an enemy's sheilds. A few people called me on it, and I had to remind them that I have a limited amount of space to get a punchline across. Sometimes things like that need to be omitted to make it funny. :P Also, who says I never took down their shields ahead of time?)

I'm loving this week. This had me sore from laughing. Tribbles: the original biological weapons of mass destruction.

Am I the only one who thinks there's not enough Lens Flare for being on the bridge of a starship? :happyroll:

Yeah, no, not really. I still prefer to waste time online instead of doing my homework. Why do you think I came back to the forums(/fora)?

Also, since the URLs are so simple, addiction-by-proxy is easy as CamelCase!
