02-17-10 Everyone ~loves~ watching the Olympics

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

Curling isn't until next weekend? I was just watching a curling match between US and Germany. Women's teams, but still curling.

Hey, at least the stupid Olympics haven't preempted the comics this week. But I agree, why not program against this event? NOBODY I know is watching this crap. Nobody.

Psych is still on this week, and I think Burn Notice will be on tonight. So at least USA isn't pulling this "Olympics are on, so absolutely no television" bullshit.

Aw come on, you're all nuts. Take Comic Dave's advice.

I mean, how many other chances do we get to make xenophobic jokes in polite company? And while not all the sports are everybody's cup of tea, watching the events can be incredible, especially when the athletes get overwhelmed with the situation. Last night Shaun White looked like a kid with ADHD, and Lindsey Vonn broke down in tears after winning gold. That's something reality TV can only pretend to fake.

Plus, new Lost, most cable shows didn't stop for the Games (including those on channels like USA, that are broadcasting the games!), and it's not like there's a whole lot on NBC these days. (Heroes, Community, The Office and 30 Rock...and unless you really need a Leno fix for some reason that's about it.) I know this part is just a matter of personal preference, but is network TV really that big of a must for everybody?

Huh? Heroes had its season finale a few weeks ago, and NBC has Chuck. Missing Chuck is enough to piss me off. That's like 10000x better than the Olympics, IMO.

And Greg has agreed with CS22 for the second time in recent memory.

Excuse me as I attempt to find a way to escape the impending doom the planet is about to suffer.
