Incidentally, it was a nameless cat. I, like the idiot, just called it CAT (as all cavemen would call cats)

More likely they called them 'dinner'.

I haven't met a single cat that would respond to it's real name, but plenty that respond to others. My girlfriend's cat is named Spot, but I always insist on calling him Jack. For some reason he likes Jack a lot better. Also, one of her Grandma's cats is named Norton, but it responds best to "EVIL". I think people just don't think about the names that they give their cats. They don't take what the CAT wants into consideration. Mean people!

I dunno, my cat responds prety well to the name Annie. By that I mean she'll look at you like you're scum, and go back to sleeping. But at least she recognizes her name!

Both dogs and cats ignore the phonetics of what you are saying, and only pay attention to the tone. That's how they talk with members of their own species, in low growls and high whines or meows.

My kitten is called Muppet but my housemate dubbed her 'Crotch Muppet' so now she replies to either muppet, muppy, or crotch.

You can probabbly guess which onec I named...
but i still wanna name one Hitler, but my mom wont approve... one day..

my dog responds to basically everything...
if you just put a sweet tone in your voice and go like:
come on doggie.. want to come with me?
we're gonna kill you
yes!
kill you!!
*tail waggin*
and then I'll get out a big kniiiife

and hug you
and stab you!!1
*pets doggie*

then he wags his tail
and barks happily

then again
if I say: pumbaa.. go and play outside
he'll go..

Dog named lucy, come to lucy lucel doogul dog my puppy brat dog lucy dog and snookie wookie doggy (or puppy dog or something along those lines)

my family names all my pets after songs

my first dog was "Lady" as in "Dude Looks like a Lady", because she really looked like a male dog

my current dog i named "the joker" after the steve miller band song

my mom's cat was "brother love" as in "brother love's travelling salvation show", a neil diamond tune

and too top it off, my brother named his pooch "Detriot Rock City" So It's Full Name is Detriot Rock City North. WERID!
