Indeed. Congrats, Lucksi

What do you call an English footballer at the World Cup Final? The referee.

Yes, but also the truth. The referee for the final is an Englishman.

A couple of thoughts on the final:

-That was a boring 90 minutes, followed by an incredible 30. Regulation time sucked.
-Overtime ruled. I've never seen pitch football goalkeepers matter so much--for a moment there it was like watching a hockey goalie! I always feel bad for the pitch football netminder--he has this giant storefront of a goal to defend and a sizable chunk of land to cover. The odds are just not in their favor. But tonight they kicked some ass. That was cool.
-The Netherlands sure do like the color orange...
-There is no question. THIS is how gridiron football needs to start doing overtime. Two five minute overtime periods. No sudden death. Two timeouts per team. There you go, problem solved, now we do overtime without discounting the work of the field goal kicker entirely.

Again, it is as foretold. By a bloody octupus.
Many Germans—upset that he correctly picked Spain over Germany in Wednesday’s semifinal—want him fried.

What a shocker the referee had. Holland should have been down to about seven men and the couple of calls he got wrong (or listened to his linesman being wrong) just before Spain's goal will be analysed to death over the next few weeks. Can't see him getting another massive game like that.
