What was your favorite video game of the year?
Mine would have to be a toss up between Bastion and Portal 2. Bastion's narration, feel, and look made me fall in love with it. It is one of those games I have been telling everyone to try. Portal 2 just had more of what I consider one of the greatest games of all time.

Batman: Arkham City. Man, I just inhaled that game over the space of a few days.
I've been really disappointed with Assassin's Creed: Revelations. It's just too samey.

Wii: Fortune Street. Yeah, it's like Monopoly on crack. But in a good way.
PS3: Batman: Arkham City. The action is quite the change of pace.
X360: Portal 2. The number of Easter Eggs and how you had to obtain them was mind boggling. Plus, I couldn't get enough lemons or potatoes.
Steam/PC: Serious Sam 3. Best multiplayer game out there.
Best of the Best: Skyrim. It took exactly three hours after its release before a nude mod came out for Skyrim.
Worst Game of the Year: Duke Nukem Forever. This is why you have to set a public deadline.

Dark Souls.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to playing Dark Souls.
In addition, This Article sums up why it's so great pretty well. It's about the challenge/reward system, and the world and gameplay are just so polished, everything feels like it has a real, physical weight and solidity to it, rather than just being a series of polygons and textures on the screen(if that makes any sense).
It's a beautiful game.
