An interesting new technology that allows you to 'rent' DVD's which are perfectly playable for 2 days after you open them, and then 'die' after that. Suffice to say, if it lets me get the stuff that I was going to rip cheaper, then I'm all for it.

Douglass: If you don't remove that link to the file, the admins might ban you.... *hint* *hint* *very strong friggin hint*
Oh, and EvilElf, might want to edit your post to remove the link too... not because you would be banned, but because it still shows in your post too.

I don't care who's right, who's wrong, or what you meant to say. Only thing I care about is the Truth. If you have it, good, share it. If not, find it. If you want to argue, do it with someone else.

These dvds work by the disc reacting to oxygen and creating a coat that the laser can't see through. Since the data layer itself is not exposed to oxygen since it's pressed onto the lastic of the disc, that means what gets oxidized is the plastic exposed to the air. And how does disc doctor work? It removes a small layer of the disc and essentially would sand away the affected plastic and render it usable once more. If the oxdizing compound is simply a coating, then the disc will be normal after that. If it's permeated through the disc, then you simply have to have a go at it with the disc doctor whenever you want to use the disc. A given cd can be resurfaced numerous times, so it's not a big deal.
Crazy with a capital psycho.
