I don't care who's right, who's wrong, or what you meant to say. Only thing I care about is the Truth. If you have it, good, share it. If not, find it. If you want to argue, do it with someone else.

I've tried searching the web for some objective info on astral projection, but I've found the websites are only from flaky people who'll believe anything that sounds nice and really arrogant people who claim to be spiritual superiors who know everything. No wonder people are so aversive to believing in paranormal ideas with these kinds of people giving them such a bad reputation.
I do almost always see colors surrounding people and it has occured to me that it may be an aura but I'm not willing to accept that as definite. It could easily be the light or my eyes or imagination, but it's odd because the color always stays the same for each person. Oddly enough though, they always change to my color (kinda magenta) after I spend a little time with them. It doesn't quite fit, though, because I only see one colour for each person and I've been told that auras have multiple colours.
I do believe in auras, though. We're all made out of energy, so it makes complete sense that we'd have auras. I'm just not sure whether I can see them or not.
I'd really love to know the explanation for these occurances. I'm not talking from a traditional scientific point of view, merely stating that if something happens, there's an explanation. Even if the world isn't entirely based on cause and effect as we think it is and some things just happen without something before it causing it to happen (I guess that's how you'd define magic), that's still an explanation.
It just drive me nuts leaving unexplored territory.

[quote="Jedi_Vader20";p="4865"]Wow,
they're really screwed up.
I was just sitting here on my computer then BANG. I was seeing myself from over in the corner of the room.
I decided to look around, and actually passed through the wall.
This freaked me out, and I suddenly snapped back....
Once again, DAMN weird........but I wouldn't mind if it happened again...

Actually Layla, I had a friend who said the same thing once... said he was going nuts because he was starting to see "auras" around people.
I think that was the last time I saw him, should have asked him what color mine was first (I was visiting old friends when on vacation).

I got in kind of late in this discussion, but I'll add my bit.
I've never tried nor experienced astral projection to my knowledge, but I do believe it can happen. An ex-girlfriend of mine was able to tell one of my best friends about an entire phone conversation he had with his girlfriend. When he asked how she knew, she answered "I was there, in your room. I could hear both sides of the conversation loud and clear." That positively freaked him out since she didn't know where he lived, and was positive he was alone. She explained that her "spirit" was in the room.
Now, I do have a question because I may be wrong about not having experienced projection. I consider myself to be firmly grounded in reality since that's how I was raised, but I can clearly recall one instance that seemed strange at the time. My body was under extreme duress with a fever of 103, and as I was lying down, I suddenly felt drifty and weightless. I blacked out and found myself at the store I manage. I even began trying to talk to a customer that my coworker was helping. All the while I was both conscious of the bed I was lying in and the layout of my store, and I was dressed as I would be for work. When it faded and I came to, I found myself talking out loud about the construct of our products as though I was speaking with a customer.
So, was that a projection or just a really vivid dream? The time of day seemed to match in both locations, though it was cloudy at my house and the "store" had sunny weather. Requesting some enlightenment...

I'm something of a skeptic on many matters. I'm very science oriented. From my perspective, most of this is superstitious ways of explaining things people don't outright understand (much like most religion is, from my point of view)
THAT SAID, that's where I stand. I could be just as right as a dedicated Christian priest, a Buddhist monk, a Rabbi, etc. There's no way to prove these things
My point of view only.
Which is just as valid as anyone else's.
On a sidenote, I've found if you go in excess of about 2 days without sleep, the contrast on life seems cranked, and the framerate all wrong. You should try it sometime
Lots of caffeine helps.
And I do have a friend who can apparently "feel" that certain people posess distinct colours, sometimes without actually having met the person.
*shrugs*
I'm a science type. I believe in the checks and balances of scientific method, peer review, etc. I respect the flexibility, extensibility, and regulation behind science. Sure, some crackpot can claim he can generate energy from nothing, but it's not science until it's proven. It actually irritates me just a tiny, little bit that superstitious things like leaving the 13th floor off buildings happens. 13 is just another number. Then again, that's just how I see things.
I'm also far from typical in that I think algorithmically. 'Tis why I find coding to be a very natural progression of ideas. Translating ideas into code is often something I find easy. Different mindset, I guess. Probably influences how I see things to some extent.
So nobody's right or wrong until proven as such
That said, just so I don't unnecessarily irritate any of the people who are a bit more spiritual than me, your views are no more or less right or wrong than mine, since neither of ours can be proven at this point.
So if you ever decide to wander up to the frozen wasteland of Canadia to hit me over the head for this, I'll buy you a donut to compensate you for the trip, and we'll call it even. Mmmm... donut, so full of chocolately cream goodness and vanilla dip icing.

The closest thing I've come to an experience with phenomenon that cannot be explained is when I was really little. I needed my tonsils removed and they gassed me to sleep while they took the buggers out, and I remember seeing myself from above having tools jabbed down my throat. I thought I was dreaming but then was told that you don't dream while under anestesia (sp?). Is that actually true.. that you don't dream while being under?

out of body experiance, very rare. Does zoning count.
"Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: whatever is soft is strong."
