Here I am, to sing you a song. And there you are, asleep against the windowpane, just like always.
Kinetic warheads? As in 'dropping a safe from space'? Simple in principle, all you need is a guidance system and you have one.
No, don't let the word 'kinetic' fool you. Its a base concept of disrupting the base concepts that make solid matter solid through a form of sub-atomic displacement. I won't get into it, as I haven't read the theory in a good two damn years since.

But that cobalt stuff is scary.

There has been some research into what Fixer was talking about, converting ICBMs into kinetic-kill devices. The main issue is how to handle launch notifications. Right now, when an ICBM launch is scheduled, anyone with a launch detection and retaliatory capacity (Russia and perhaps China right now) is notified of the approximate launch time and target to avoid mistakes. In a war situation, such notifications could conceivably make their way to the target, which could clear out its personnel before the strike.

People might think they are real warheads, too. If you were the president, and there was an unknown object onboard an ICBM heading toward Washington from a country with nukes, what would do?

I'd get the hell out of Dodge.

If you were in Dodge you wouldn't have to worry. You said the ICBM was heading for Washington, not Kansas. :)

I'd get the hell out of Dodge.
And hit the little red button on the way out.

Point is, there'd very likely be some big Dr. Strangelovesque crisis, and a few things might get blown the fuck up.

*Edit - There was a thread about a guided concrete bomb. The thread was "The best military invention ever!"

Also, the bomb will release radiation which is harmful. Im still skeptical if the radiation put on food while processing is harmless.

You get irradiated in an X-ray, CT/CAT, or PET machine, and you're also irradiated everyday by background radiation in the form of cosmic rays and natural radioactive decay.

Not to mention by reading this very sentence in which I am currently typing, and which you have now read, and will stop reading about now.

I'm sorry, I meant now.

Im still reluctant to get an x-ray and stuff. I dont trust it. I probably sound paranoid, but I am.

The food radiation is harmless. I'm sure you know it doesn't make the food radioactive.

Radiation sources

Post by Martin Blank » Sat Jun 07, 2003 4:32 pm

You can estimate your annual radiation dosage with this chart:

http://www.ans.org/pi/dosechart/docs/dosechart.pdf

I came up at 309 millirems in the last year.

If you have porcelain caps on your teeth, those caps have uranium in them, among other things, to improve the phosphorescence of the porcelain to better simulate the natural look of teeth.

Ah, ty Martin. I'd been looking for that damn link. Feel free to pass that around to your UK buddies on the food issue, Bjarni.

Not to mention that one weird ass cult...
