Mario is better because he is more realistic(if that is possible). Sonic is seemingly indestructible and moves in ways that are completely ridiculous.

Ok; so sonic seems cooler... but he isn't challenging. He is too artificial.

I think Mario is much better over Sonic. It's far more creative. I mean.. think about it. A pudgy plumber getting big after eating a bunch of 'shrooms, stomping on turtle-like creatures. It sounds like something out of a dream after smoking a bunch of pot.

hey, at least Sonic isn't doing crack. Mario eat shrooms and grows, he eats flowers and can spit fire, he eats a leaf and can fly. if you're missing the obvious drug refences here, then you're doing crack. its not a matter of realistic or not, i just prefer games that have a coolness factor to them, so Sonic will always win there.

i just think it sucks that they made tails have a crap personality in Sonic Adventure. he used to be even cooler than Sonic.

I personally never was in any way partial to the Mario games, unless of course you count MariKart64...but that's besides the point. I actually really like the character of mario, but you have to agree that nothing, and i mean NOTHING can ever beat a superfast hedgehog that gets to kill a fat guy that has to use a hovercraft to get around as he can't walk by himself. (except for in SA2B)

I don't know, sure Sonic is faster but Mario can shoot fire and fly. Also Mario has to put up with the princess never being the castle he just beats. Sonic just worries about chasing the Doc. One thing, sure you have the Sega vs. Nintendo thing, but what about Crash Bandicoot? need to represent for Sony
