Are they biting hard, or just nibbling? They can't see very well, so sometimes they can mistake your hand for either food or an enemy. It's very important not to sneak up on them, or you may get bitten.

They either bite if they are scared, or if they mistake you for food (be careful if you have been handling food and haven't washed your hands).

They need a few days to get used to you and recognise you as The Food God. Give them lots of treats. Don't ever feed them through the cage bars - that will make them bite because they will think that anything touching the cage is food (including fingers).

No cage. Aquarium. I had it from back when I had fish. And they haven't really bitten HARD yet, but I haven't given them the chance. I don't wanna bleed. Ok, yeah. I'll just let my hand in real smooth like, and wash after food... and maybe invest in some cheap gloves for a few days.

I know what the people there said, but you're more knowledgeable. What's good for treats?

Try not to use gloves - they might be scared of them, plus they need to get used to your smell. Some rats are territorial - Willow would bite but usually only inside her cage, because I was invading her space. If you find they are a bit nippy in the aquarium, try and lure them out with food, then spend time with them. They'll soon learn that "out-time" is good, and that you're not going to hurt them when you go near their house.

I wonder if Blaze is good friends with Richard Gere...

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to get rid of them already...

My mom has a phobia I didn't know about. She won't even come in my room. In fact, she's not sleeping with them in the house. She's been sitting up all night.

I geuss I'll see if I can return them. If not, I'm not sure what I'll do.

I want some rats, my mom won't let me have them. "You've had too many pets!"

Sure, Sure If you count:

2 Rabbits
3 Ducks
1 Gerbil
3 Hampsters
3 Dogs
about a million fish
1 possum

As too many pets, then Sure! I've had too many.

I'm keeping them. I don't care what my mom says.

I came home from work, and they were WAITING for me! Samus started jumping up and down! It was so cute! She does that. She lives up to her name. Very active. I should send her after metroids.

She basically threatened to kick me out if I kept them.

We got into a big fight. I think I hurt her very badly. But, then, so did she. There's rarely an issue where it's black and white between us. I feel completely one way, and she the other. In fact, this was the only one I can recall. Basically, what I found out was that if she's dead set against it, my oppinion doesn't matter.

Sigh.... they'd just really started bonding with me too! I let them run all over my chest and they didn't run off on me! They just sniffed me all out. They even stopped trying to nibble my fingers!
